FordGeek
OK...so in talking with my dealer today I confirmed that a VIN has been assigned to my GT500 order...woohoo! However, here's the weird part, he's also saying that the system is reflecting a "delay" code in the order. Does anyone have any idea what this means? At first I thought it might be related to the satellite radio availability until the end of the year, but I took this option off a week after my order was first entered. He also mentioned that he's seen orders actually in production have these codes assigned to them. This makes me nervous and I'm just hoping maybe someone like Five OH or ISellFord may have an answer for me.

Five Oh B
I need to fix/edit what I posted earlier, as I was off a bit, so here's the correct answer..... The status on all Shelby orders (and most of our V6 and GT orders for 2007) says "UNSCHEDULED/CLEAN" while your order sits in the queue waiting for it to be pulled. If it has been pulled already, then the status is currently "TEMP DELAY." There is no problem, just isn't time to start building them yet, so it's all good. The status will change to "SUBMITTED TO PLANT" after Job #1 (June 5th) and once the order is pulled and sent to the factory. Then when it is on the assembly line it will show as "BUCKED" then "PRODUCED" once it is built.

Three Cobras
Five Oh B - So what you're saying we should be happy when we get BUCKED? Hmmm. Not liking the sound of that.
CooterXJ
When do the 1st ones get delivered? My girlfriend told me that mine is at the house waiting for me to get home. She mentioned something about some sorta lottery to get it or something.
Toms71
I wish I had the computer savvy to set up some method to track which states all these lucky folks live in where orders are actually being taken. I live in So Cal. and have yet to find a store that will actually take an order. I'm hoping that ends once pricing is revealed, that seems to be the reason most often given. -Tom
Five Oh B
OK, my facts are off just a bit. Ford can submit an order to the plant before Job #1 (not just after as I posted above). Sorry for the confusion!!!! Our first GT500 order just changed status today from "TEMP DELAY" to "SUBMITTED TO PLANT." So, if there was anything holding up orders for any reason, it is gone now! isellford
All of the 07 Mustang orders were in a Temp Delay status since system fill began to allow for build out of the 06's. That cleared up late yesterday and the 1st batch of cars tht will be built during the week of 6/5 now show submitted and a schedule week of 6/5. There are no apparent holds at this time. Shelby's are scheduled to start build on 6/6 but NONE will be released until 6/26 due to quality checks, etc.

I just did a quick search on the internet and found the answer to my PM question, I think. Essentially, it the answer was the side air bags. Hope you didn't invest any time in research!
