Powerlease letters have arrived!

:happy feet: Got my Powerlease letter today in the mail. I was expecting a sort of certificate, but it looks like everything has to be coordinated through a special number. I cut out my personal info and the number info so they aren't overwhelmed with time machine requests to get a PL certificate. Other than that, the letter is attached. I can't believe this day has arrived - and just short of two years from when promised!post-3896-1146344175_thumb.jpg

I read your powerlease. One thing it said was that you had the option to buy or lease the GT500. I didn't know that lease was an option for the GT500 is this for the powerlease customers only?

You can lease anything

What I was asking is that, does the dealer have a choice to say, to no I dont want to lease this car. I want to make the 5 to 15K over MSRP. Or does he dont have a choice because of the powerlease. I know that you can lease anything. But with the limit run of this car. Would leasing be benifical to the dealer? Would this stop them from leasing it to a powerlease holder, or do they not have a choice?

A dealer can lease any new vehicle out - even with a huge ADM. However, that ADM will drive the monthly payments way up on a short term (2-4 year) lease compared to a typical long term (4-6 year) loan. Also, there are crappy lease rates/terms for Mustang GT's from Ford Credit (most banks have ceased leasing) and the same will be true for GT500's. The Mustang V6 has really sweet lease rates/tems, but only because that's the volume leader in the Mustang lineup that Ford wants to push.

Being a dealer, we show our customers all the options for buying/financing/leasing any particular vehicle to let them choose what works best for their circumstances. We could really care less if a customer buys cash, finances, or leases. At the end of the day, that customer still bought the car and that is what we care most about.

Thanks for the information. That clears it up for me. :D

although there is incentive for the dealer to finance you from ford motor credit.

Actually, there is an incentive for the dealer to finance you through any bank. The dealer gets paid a small piece of interest by any and all banks - not just Ford Credit. That's why it kills me when a customer asks if they can get a discount on a car if they pay cash in full. Heck no - we make more money when it is financed or leased!

Now on the flip side, Ford Credit often tries to drum up more business for themselves by offering customers extra bonus cash rebates if they finance with Ford Credit. That incentive goes to the customer, so the dealer doesn't benefit from that offer (except perhaps the lower price with the bonus cash means more cars are sold).
