Pig
I ordered a billet shifter bezel and when trying to install it I scratched my leather boot cover. The edges of the bezel are pretty sharp. This really isn't a problem when its installed because the bezel covers up the scratches. However, I'd like to have a backup for "restoration purposes." So I went to my local Ford dealer parts department and asked if I could order one. Well when the guy looked it up he said it could only be ordered with the entire shifter - over $300! Obviously I thought the guy didn't know what he was doing (he was covering for lunch break). Nevertheless, has anyone else heard of this? I don't see why you couldn't just order the leather shifter boot by itself? Does anyone know the specific part number? Any help is much appreciated. cobrafan
It does not surprise me that you had to order the whole shifter. The silver cap came off the shifter on my F150 pick up and the whole shifter had to be replaced. Warranty @ 35,960. Yuck Yuck.
