The affected vehicles are in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Sort of...regardless of where these Mustangs are located, they have the same airbags. Heat & humidity allegedly is the reason that they fail, hence the recalls in the states w/ those environments.

If you read the NY Times article, its more than heat & humidity. This is heading in the direction of the GM ignition recall.

I agree; I don't think it will stop here. I want a recall on mine as well.

I looked up my Seatac Rental (139) and it is being recalled. You can check if your car is being recalled on this website:

Mine in the state of WA state seems to be clear for now. Thanks.

I wonder if it has to do with where the cars were in service. Our car was a Florida car as well. It is now a Virginia car.

You might be right on this cougarrs428 ours was rented out of Tampa. I am calling Monday and schedule an appointment. I am debating whether to have them install my signed air bag cover of it's on the passenger side.

Stopped at my local Ford store and asked what my next step was regarding this recall. The service writer looked up my VIN and the recall. His first remark was I just need a reprogramming, then the next remark was I didn't have to worry it wasn't part of the recall. He went on with another remark which was I needed both bags replaced then that changed and said no only one, which one he never said. The part would take a week to get and I should make the appointment. That's when I said can't this wait till next spring since the car wasn't coming out anymore this year. He said yes call in the spring and they will take care of it.

I would like to see exactly what he was reading so I can determine what's going on with this recall.

Checked mine, so far nothing. I guess time will tell.

Mine is sitting at the dealer now awaiting airbags. They were looking at the recall notice like it was written in Greek so they obviously had not seen very many of these come in yet. I would suggest making an appointment ahead of time as it appears this is not an "on the shelf" item at most dealers.

The lastest news...please note, this did NOT occur in a "high humidity state"...

Yup this recall is going to get larger. Honda has already offered to replace Takata airbags no matter what state you're in.

  • 1 month later...

So 06H0050 is on the list. Anyone get this done yet? If so any issues and does it affect the passenger side as well. Recall says "Driver Airbag Inflator". Concerned about the airbag cover signatures.

+1 .... same concerns and questions here.

Mine did and you should be concerned. My signature was scuffed when they did the swap out. That was only part of the frustration as the car was at the dealer for a month, yes, a month. I would suggest making sure they have the parts in stock before taking the car to drop it off. In addition, if you have anyone, including yourself, who can take the cover off and reinstall it before taking it to the dealer, I would suggest doing that. I did and did not go that route and now I wish I had.

Thanks. You confirmed my fear. I will have to work out an option on the signed cover. I'm thinking they may balk at a coverless airbag. The techs at the local dealer could cross thread a light bulb. I have no confidence in them. I may wait some more before I act. The car is tucked away for the winter. No one's driving it right now. No rush yet.

Mine is scheduled to go in on Friday and so far i have been told this will be the first one they have done. When you ask what needs to be done you get all different stories depending on who you talk to. Think I may just hold off a few months. Don’t want to lose the signed air bag cover due to them not knowing what they are doing.
