NoStripes
I'm noticing some awful noise coming from my Shelby's transmission that I never heard in my 5.0.The shifts feel perfect and otherwise it's driving just fine. The noise sounds like when you drop it into a high gear at low RPM and it makes the vibrating/shaking noise however it's audible all through second gear and I believe the sound continues into higher gears but it's hard to tell with the sound of the exhaust.Considering the hefty price tag, any potential defect is a major concern to me...Has anyone else experienced an issue that sounds like this?My hometown Ford dealership has pretty nice reviews online but they deal almost exclusively in trucks so I'm wary about letting them handle my Shelby... Do you guys think it would be worth it to drive a good bit out of the way to take it a Roush dealership? Edit: It seems the sound is only present after the car is warmed up (20-30mins driving)
daveh70
I think due to the high performance nature of the drivetrain, some transmission noise is normal. If you suspect something else though, I would take it straight to the dealer since it's under warranty. My car doesn't make those sounds you describe.
