Now that the 2013s and 2014s have been out there a while, I was wondering if people were actually driving their Shelbys or putting them in their garage, on blocks, in the dark, wrapped in a plastic bubble with dehumidified nitrogen being pumped in, at a constant 45 degrees F.

Anyway I thought it would be interesting if people would post the miles that they have on their cars and, if anyone never reset one of their trip odometers (I only use "A" for trips, I have never rest "B", so I have a defacto engine hour meter).

2013 GT500 Coupe / SVT / Track Pack / Electronics / Shaker 500 / Race Red - Stripe Delete but had only the side stripes put on by dealer / Recaros / Builders are Keith & Kevin (interestingly, my first name is Keith - was quite happy when I first opened the hood and looked!)

Ordered 2 weeks before Carroll died. Received 7/7/2012

Driving: Lots of highway and 4-6 hour trips from Mass. to Long Island at night (to avoid traffic) typically 75 to 95 MPH

No track yet, but quite a lot of "fun" so it is being driven almost like I "stole it"

Total Miles on car: 35,620.8

From the "B" Trip Odometer, never reset since new:

Hours: 1,135:16:51 (note, the hour meter only goes to 999 so it "flips over" to 000 at 1,000 hours but it is easy to keep track of)

Gallons Used: 2,512.5

Ave MPG: 14.1 (actually, 14.1701 dividing 35620.8 miles by 2512.5 gals.)

So who has more miles?

When I first got mine, I promised myself I would only drive it in perfect weather, in no traffic (early Sunday mornings, etc.) and keep it perfect at all times. That promise did not last long - I just realized that it was more important to me to be in the seat shifting, accelerating, steering and (sometimes) flying around. So I do have a few tiny stone chips in the windshield and front bumper paint, etc. but since I am 56, and tomorrow is never guaranteed for anybody, I decided to drive it until the wheels fall off - then put new wheels on it and drive some more. I enjoy looking at it and cleaning it and working on it, but only in anticipation of driving it. Of course, I do not drive it in the snow or ice - and I take my truck if it looks like a bad rainy day; however, I am not worried if I get caught in the rain. I helps that a friend of mine owns a Mobil station and lets me use the lift if I want on Sundays when the mechanic is not there - I have even detailed all the plastic under the chassis with an armor-all equivalent.

Count me in the camp of limited mileage.....car is not a daily driver. Like to take out on nice days and for car shows.

2112 miles since driving out of the showroom on May 26th, Memorial day.

Stored mid October when temps reached 50 degrees, tires are a little squirrely in cold weather.

Looking forward to May.

I drive mine whenever I can(unless it is raining) purchased November 2013, 6500 mile today My 2008 GT was averaging 7500 miles per year. Not bad considering I'm home only 3 days a week and temps below 50 degrees amount to 3 days per year in San Diego. Of course when it does rain pontoons would be a nice option.

This is either bragging (driver) or a big time sin (museum piece), depending on how you think these cars should be treated. Car came home 27 December 2012 and has had a trip to Florida for a wedding (Sept 13), part of Mustangs Across America to Charlotte and back (April 14), and a shorter trip to British Columbia (Sept 14).

Has only had 4 track days, but feel those miles were the roughest on the car. The dang thing did smile a bunch though in the pictures I saw. Tire dealer smiles a bunch too.

All told it now has 36,857 miles and I think I'll see well over 75,000 before I retire and make the shorter commute to the golf course instead of to work. This thing is too damn much fun to keep off the road.

Mines a '14 and bought this year in January. Bought it in NC and drove it the 317 miles home and daily ever since. I have put 11,000 miles on it this year. I had a 2011 Shelby GT-500 before this and sold it with 42,000 miles. I'm too old to worry about the vehicles as an investment so I enjoy them the way Carroll Shelby meant for them to be enjoyed. I track my gas mileage with each fill up on https://www.fuelly.com/car/ford/mustang/2014 . I normally get 17/18 mpg daily and have gotten over 25 on the highway a couple of times. Even running 80 mph on the interstate I get 22 mpg. Great road cars.

Ordered my 2014 early Dec 2012. Received it March 29, 2013 (I believe one of the first 14s off the line and possibly first in MN). Put 5000 miles on in 2013 thru end of Oct 2013 then parked it for the winter. Pulled it out April this yr and just parked it on Sunday with 10,020 miles on it. I will DD it to work (26 miles each way) but only if no rain expected and over 2 summers other than a couple drops I've never gone thru rain! I also spend many weekends in the summer at our lake place so I get limited time on the weekends.

Purchased my 2014 in September 19, but was only able to start driving it on October 10, 2014, and today I have 2956 miles on it.

Planning a trip from NYC to Miami soon, so that will put another approximately 3400 miles more.

Cheers

I have 8900 miles on mine. I received it the during first week of April in 2013 after ordering it. I averaged about 9000 miles a year with my 2003 GT for seven years, but I drove it everyday. I put 5000 on the GT500 last year. This year road construction has been going on since last June in Western MA. Enjoyable driving it's not!. My work commute is about 3 miles one way and I usually use my 2001 Mustang V6 for that. I'm usually sitting in traffic anyway.

The GT500 is averaging 16.2 mpg over the last 5000 miles. I don't look at it, I do drive it. I put it up for the winter from December to the end of March. This is the first car that I have not driven as a daily driver. I drove it this morning. I do have an alternate set of wheels and tires to extend my driving time into December. Summer only tires in New England don't work too well when it's cold.

BTW rain is not a deterrent for me. It's a car. You have to adjust to the conditions, and I am not worried about other issues mentioned.

Mine is not a daily driver but every chance I get I drive mine...

Been to NC from Florida numerous times, one trip from Central Fl to New York to meet Dan (MY500SS) and the Northeast crowd (NTT)

Planning a trip to Sturgis next year for the mustang rally. Plan to drive from Central Fl to Oklahoma to visit my daughter, then to Vegas to visit Shelby and get pictures with Shelby "at home base" then to Sturgis for the rally. Finally, back home to Central Fl...

Approx 6,000 miles....should be alot of fun and smiling driving....

Wow! ebucky and I have almost the exact same milage - 36,000+ Actually, I am a tad behind at 36,540, vs ebucky's 36,857. I guess it's time for me to figure out how to create the sidebar that lists everything about my car(s) in grey text under my post.

13 GT500 16,750 k. The same old question arises, drive it or keep the miles down? I never drive either stang when it rains, only out on nice days, I don't just let it sit in the sun for no reason, but when its nice I love taking either one out. Extra benefit, I live in the northeast so putting them away keeps the mileage down for 5-6 months of the year. Drive it when its nice, leave it in when its crappie, that's my motto. When they are putting you in a box and your pushing up daisies, you wish you took it out more often !! Enjoy it while you can, life's to short !

I drove mine daily for the first year and racked up 14K. Then I bought a Pony Package V-6 convertible as a daily driver. The last two years I've driven it an additional 8,000 miles but mostly driving to the All-Ford Nationals in Carlisle. Pa. That's usually about 2,000 miles each year and to the NPD Show in Ocala, Fl. That's usually another 1,000 to 1,200 each year. So very little around town anymore. I'm ashamed to say it but, it sits in the driveway most of the other times. My 1970 Mach 1 is in the garage space.

My first 2014 Shelby vert I purchased in Columbus, Wisconsin in late Nov 2013 with 6 miles I drove my 07 there I like high horsepower snowmobiles I quess, when I traded it in April 2016 it had 60,000. I traded for another 14 vert which had 491 miles it now has over 23,000 miles on it rain, sleet or snow away we go. I am having my Sunbeam tiger Mark II completely redone then I think the GT500 will find a new home and I will pile miles on the Tiger like I used to it is my old friend of decades. I am 71 and everyday I drive it I appreciate it more then when I was young driving for I know I am at the last gas station before the desert.

UPDATE: Another cross-country trip to Florida and back in the books and now have 63K miles. Still on track to hit 75K in the 882 days I have left before setting my own agenda each day. :)
