captdave
Wonder why eBay isn't telling its' members? Read this one. eBay hacked, requests all users change passwords Then ebay pulled the change password request for some reason? http://www.cnet.com/news/ebay-hacked-requests-all-users-change-passwords/ CaptDave

Exactly, this is a typical corporate CYA, like all the recalls from GM, etc.
captdave
I had my credit card info stolen from the Target November, 2013 breach. Thieves' charge your card a very small amount to test it. They charge about $1.50 from a bait shop in Louisiana, CC Company caught it. After having it happen to me, I'm changing passwords right away from now on. DubbsFaris
Its of no use to anyone without paypal. What, they gonna buy me a rare beanie baby?
drzeeba
Ebay owns PayPal also. Better safe than sorry. Be sure to log in to your account through the ebay.com or paypal.com websites. Scammers will often send and email asking you to "click this link to change your password". If you follow through with it that way the got ya! 19again
My password manager told me to change when I logged on. Don't know about PayPal but will change that one also.

SoCalSGT
I sent an email to eBay and paypal asking why they hadn't notified anyone and why we had to learn about it from outside parties. Still waiting for a reply! But that's par for the course for eBay. John
Bookwyrm
There's currently a huge banner about it on the ebay homepage. No mention of PayPal though.
Frank S
The reports I've seen said PayPal wasn't affected by the breach. Hope that's accurate.
czardoz1
I just checked and see nothing about this in my eBay messages inbox. Same here but when I went to change the password: a message popped up that said effective May 21st passwords need to be updated on ebay. Thanks for the heads up captdave.
