Gopro'd The Awakening Of The Snake!!

Recommended Posts

Had to fire up the Super Snake after several months of sleep. Only a about another 10 days of home time before we take off for the Bash! Getting pumped!!!!

WooHoo, I still have about 6 mods to get done on the car including several Hydro Dipped parts Frankie hooked me up with(I had been inquiring since before the move of S.A.), and he lived up to his promise even though he is no longer in his former position. Thanks for the peak, and now that you know what I look like, see you at the Bash!!!

Hope the link works....BTW, It was a balmy 36 in the garage when I started it today:-)

Thanks Robert, I missed that sound!!! No way this snow will be gone before we leave for the bash.....Im sure I will get some interesting looks driving her down the interstate!

Sounds good!

O yea, thank you sir!

I did the same thing this last weekend without the video proof. ( I should get one of those cameras)

What a great feeling to be able to hear the growl of our beasts after such a long sleep!

Awesome, I would recommend the Go Pro(silver or black), does a great job!

Whats up with the hood struts? Car sound good.

They are struts I ordered from some mustang parts online store. Said they were for heavier super snake hoods (90lb strength), but unless the ambient temp is in the 70's, they will not hold up the hood. I am actually in the midst of trying to install the new redline struts. Now to get them to work with the new hood.

The hood struts appear to be the same ones I have, and they aren't doing the job on my hood either. Cannot wait to replace them with the Redlines.

And yes your car sounds amazing! Can't wait to see it next month!

See you there!!!! Hopefully with the redlines on mine, but if not, SA will be helping me put them on in the parking lot. Buy the parts, Ill be bringing the drill and Rivet gun! (if I don't get them in over the next week here)

Nice! Love the whine up front and the growl from behind.

Be careful on the drive down in the cold.. Even with those massive tires, Snakes and cold don't get along (even in CA where cold was only in the high 30's briefly)!

I was thinking the same thing! If I don't have mine on by the 50th I will bring my drill and rivet gun and do them in the parking lot as well! Great minds think alike! But hoping to have mine on soon.

Just went out and lifted my hood today and the ambient temp was 80 degrees. The hood struts did hold up much better than they did the last few times I had the hood up. At that time it was around mid to low 60's. So I'm woth you that bit depends on the temp on how well the struts work. Feeling a little better ifbit still have these on during the 50th because the temp then should be up there a bit.

Well I have yet to make any headway with Andreas from redline tuning. It appears they have changed the mounting position on the fender, and with the current strut/rod ends, there is not enough rotation to get the hood bracket in the correct position. His instructions are on a hood that does not have the same ridges as mine either. Hopefully we can come up with a solution sometime over the next few weeks!!

Very interesting. So the redlines you got from Shelby wont work on our hood? What was actually in the kit you recieved? It appeared by their description the kit should have the two hood mounts, six rivets, the fender brackets and the struts. Is that kit wrong for the 2010+ hoods?

No that’s what they had, but I have instructions prior to them making the change on their website (per my phone call). There used to be a single ball that was mounted to the fender instead of the bracket on the fender. This ball was towards the front of the car another 1.5 inches, yet the location for the hood mounting did not change in measurements (27.5"). Along with this, I physically cannot get the upper bracket in the intended position per Andreas's pics(which show a metal skinned hood that is not the same as my SS hood). Jer is in on all the e-mails so he is aware of the happenings. I asked for a simple (X,y) coordinate to locate the hood bracket, but since they do not have access to one, he could not supply the info.
