Has Anyone Purchased Or Installed The Shelby Light Bar On Their 13 Or 14?

Has anyone purchased the shelby light bar? Does it have any branding on it anywhere? I had a CDC on my 08 GT500 and it had the CDC logo on it. I was planning to order the light bar and install it myself. If anyone has installed one on their 13, tips would be greatly appreciated.

Yes - I have - very easy install - just follow the instructions - very nice quality and functionality. Actually shuts off the third brake light in the bar when the top is up. (Mine is the CDC and you can order w/o branding)

My '08 Shelby GT convertibles had the light bar. I thought it looked great!!! Not a structural roll bar and they made it very clear at the drag strip the first and only time I took mine GT/SC.

 

It also helped with keeping the top from fluttering in the wind.

Thanks! I didn't realize you could order the CDC without the logo. I went with SA's as Jer said it didn't have any branding. If it does, it's going back and I will order the CDC without the logo.

Thanks! PM me if you need any pointers on the install. I just took it slow and easy (esp when removing the interior plastic) - took me about 4 hours (that was with tend to the kids breaks included...).

I guess it's a matter of opinion. I like the way they look. The car will still perform well enough for me

I like the looks too. I've been thinking about getting one myself.

 

How much do they weigh? I could stand to lose fifty pounds, so maybe I'll order one and go on a diet. That should balance it out.

Or just go take a healthy crap before you go drive and that should offset part of the weight.

That thing can't weigh more than 20lbs. My convertible is already tipping 4,000lbs anyway. I doubt you'd even notice it in any measurable statistic.

The ads say that it helps to stiffen to the convertible body. Looking at the design, I'm a little skeptical about how much stiffness it can add.

 

Still like the looks though.

I had one on my 08SGT and 08GT500 and I agree it's more cosmetic than anything, but very cool looking

Don't laugh,stupid question,but in the 69 and 70 shelby coupes,the had a factory roll bar that looked just like this light bar,would this fit in a coupe,I think back in the day the seat belts were hooked to the roll bar.

You wouldn't want to attach seatbelts to one of these. Look into a "harness bar". That's going to be what you want. That or a simple bolt-in 4 point roll bar for the rear of the car.
