How much would you donate?

How many of you, getting the 40th Aniversary Package or SS upgrades, would make a donation to the Shelby Children's Foundation if Carroll Shelby would sign you car and hand you the keys in person when your car was completed at shelby in Vegas? And if so, how much would you be willing to donate? I'm just curious. Individually, we can't do much, but if a group of us were willing to make it worth his while at one time---hummmm, I wonder???? :party2:

Here's an idea, have a "minimum" donation amount of $200.00, but folks are free to donate more if they would like with SAI donating a like amount (within limits of course). After all, you are already paying a preimum for the SAI work and it would create a great event for both the owner and SAI in publicity. Imagine having a photo of you with Carrol Shelby and your Shelby in the background!!

Actually, I would be willing to make a reasonably substantial contribution of $500-$1,000 or more, as it is tax deductable (for the time being) and it is a great cause. We'd just budget it in with church, Boy Scouts, Jerry's kids, etc. I think the concept has personal value for car shows and impressing friends, but I don't see that it would help with resale or furture value of your paticular car. I just can't imagine anyone looking at two dead guys, one of which they may know and the other guy they don't have a clue who he is, in 40 years and placing any value on it. Who knows, stranger things have happeded. McDonald's is the largest restaurant in the world and they started selling 15 cent hamburgers! I've got a signed picture of Ray Kroc, anyone interested in buying it? Again, personal thought, very cool, I'd sign up.

Nice idea... I'm sure Carroll can't be there (LV) every week and folks might not want to wait weeks to pick up their car (and I'm sure SA doesn't want to store it on the lot for long) but, possibly, once or twice a month on a particular day (Friday, or something like that) Carrol could do this and those wanting to participate/donate could have their cars scheduled so completion/pick-up date falls in those weeks? Just a thought...

:party2: OK Listen up!! The Donation Party is approved and accepted by SAI and the Childrens Foundation. It will be for 40th Package buyers only. The recomended donation is $1000 per car. The party will be scheduled for late August/early September, depending on Carroll Shelby's schedule. The only thing needed now is serious participants. John Walker has asked me to get a list of willing participants so he can verify that your on the 40th list. I need your Name and VIN # of your car. You may PM me here or e-mail me @ jdaallen@aol.com. Your information will be kept confidential and used for this purpose only. We are hoping to get 15 party goers!! I realize there are many details to be worked out, but this is the starting line!! :party2:
