Bill Hamilton Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 Drove up to Cella Ford in New Bern, NC to pick up my new 2014 Shelby GT-500 yesterday and brought it home today. Didn't plan on the big winter storm being there when I made arrangements to pick it up. Hopefully it will be the last time it ever sees snow as I had trouble getting out of the dealership parking lot with all the snow. One on the highway it was fine as The state did a fine job of clearing the highways. Although I have a pulley and a VMP Tune on my 2011, the 2014 is a whole different breed of horse when you throw the spurs to her. You most definitely have to ease into the throttle on the street. I was pleasantly surprised by how well-behaved the car stayed throughout. My mileage results on the 1500 miles trip home also mirror yours. Yeap, that was me. Did a search on Cargurus.com and found 36 new 2014's within a 500 mine radius. Started calling around and Cella was willing to deal. Car had been on the lot for a while (Cargurus said 182 days). There was a dark gray one in Dunn also I checked on but my wife like the white one better. Cella came $2500 off their internet price. The one in Dunn (http://static.cargurus.com/images/forsale/2013/09/08/00/01/2014_ford_shelby_gt500-pic-3017692575047720985-1024x768.jpeg) offered the same deal. They were great folks to do business with. Got there about 6:30 pm Thursday evening (they close at 7:30 pm) did the paper work in about 30 minutes. Told them to keep the car overnight and I'd be back in the morning to get it. They had it gassed up and waiting. The lot was iced over and snow packed so I had a heck of a time getting off the lot trying to slip slide my way to the MLK Blvb but once there I hit US 70 to I-95 to I-26 to back home and it was clear sailing the whole way. I was shocked at the amount of snow and ice you guys had.
