vimstar
I have been watching several different 2007 Shelby GT500 auctions on eBay to see what dealers are trying to get over MSRP. Well, today when I looked there were about 20+ auctions on Ebay. When I just looked again tonight eBay had removed every singe one of them. I wonder if this might have something to do with the possible delay or if something else is going on. Has any one heard anything? With all the rumors going around (possible engine issues, SVT dealer law suits, etc.) I am curious if one of them might have something to do with it. I just find it odd that all of them would be yanked at once.
BlueOval
Very interesting. I just found one on EBay Here. It appears to be a straight auction and not an "Over MSRP" auction but I bet the reserve is set high! Looks like it went on EBay late last night, too. Maybe they did pull the "over msrp" auctions??? rpretzel
Do you think it could have anything to do with the rumored letter Ford sent to all dealers warning them of the negative impact of poor customer relations? (http://www.stangsunleashed.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=799) Did these dealers really take the letter to heart? I hope so.
351c-ya
With all of the auctions disappearing at the same time, I really doubt the dealers pulled them since it would be impossible for them to coordinate it. IMHO, it's much more likely to be EBay that pulled them. Lance

mrsuds
I wonder if this could have anything to do with the good news Robert has for us. Ford might be trying to excersice some control over the dealers.. Maybe only allocating cars to the dealers that will not charge over MSRP. Doubtful, but hopeful. I have a feeling that would be a little too much like price fixing. Ford could offer incentives to dealers who charged MSRP or a reasonable markup over. Yes, Ford is limited as to what they can do, but maybe they are taking serious attempts to curb the problem. I just wish we knew what the article was about. Robert is apparently having ISP issues today, which is causing me issues of my own.
BlueOval
This EBay Auction states that the "Car will be available for pick-up or delivery on May 24, 2006. If car is not available for pick-up or delivery by 30 days from the end of the auction, we will refund the purchase amount and the buyer is no longer obligated to purchase the vehicle." This same ad states that the 'Official Ford ETA" is May 24, 2006. What's up with that?
HOWARD GIRE
This is called "The Rumor Mill". A funny thing happeneed to me this afternoon-------------I tried to contact both dealerships which I am currently listed with(#1)and in both cases the General Mgr. and Owner were attending closed door meetings and would be out of communication for the time being. I even left a note for the Manager directing him to call ASAP since I had learned that Ford was assigning VIN #s to the Shelbys and I wanted to talk as to making an agreement on the selling terms. This was done at 4:00 pm and it is now 9:00 pm and still now answer or reply from them. Maybe, just maybe, things are starting to happen. I guess we will find out real soon. Five Oh B
We have not received any such "letter to dealers" from Ford about how to handle Shelby sales, but then again, we are not selling anything on eBay.

VNMOUS1
Strange--YES--Ford is not going to even start building this car until June 5th--hmmm Bud Actually that's not quite true. There are a few dozen of them that are on the ground and are not mules. Nor are they the ones Robert catches on video. Now, as to whether or not that dealership gets one of them....it certainly could happen if they're a mega-dealership (TONS of 'Stang sales, likely to have been full-line SVT and President's Award winners). bj

There is a mix of 'verts and coupes....all in the most popular colors. I'd forgotten I'd been told about that until I read the (above) post. So, I went to take a look at the eBay listings. Lo and behold.....pre-6/5/06 delivery dates....various colors....already VIN'd...and loaded (note they all have Sirius and Shaker 1000). So, no, I can't say more....but I'll betcha what I was told was true, don't you think? Signing off from Area 500. bj And BTW, if your avitar means the obvious, you'll love my former license plate: FLY VNE

See: Potted meat food product in another thread), I was flying Caravans, schlepping parts for Fed Ex. Now, I fly what rents easily. Recently, I've been spending most of my time in a little 4 place single from Diamond Aircraft. DiamondStar DA40. Fixed gear, very small cockpit with HUGE viz, and about 130-135 TAS on 10.5GPH. It's a stick...and one of them has a full glass cockpit. The other has stacked Garmin 430s. Both are a hoot. :happy feet: bj

I have been flying the C-17 for the AF for about 3 years now, I've been flying for 12 years now. It's a great aircraft and a great mission. Just don't get too much time at home.
