clark17357
I sent the dealer a message about the car not being as it is advertised (I was nice). I, too, would like to know the fate of 4261. Jim

clark17357
I earlier shared with you that I contacted the dealer. Here is what I wrote and what I got back: Me: "Saw this post on the Shelby site: http://albany.craigslist.org/ctd/4120071599.html. Your dealership looks like one that is trying to do it right so I pass on to you that whatever else your Mustang is, it is not either a Shelby GT or a Shelby GT500. The CSM plaque in the car is from a Shelby GT car that was built by Mr. Shelby in his Las Vegas plant and, most likely, destroyed in an accident (the GT500s are built by Ford in Michigan). Within the records of Shelby is the match up between that plaque number in your car and the VIN of the car it came from. It is not a bad looking car but, as a dealer, I suspect you are always trying to determine the accuracy of what a seller tells you about a car. Hope this helps." Dealer: "Jim, I appreciate the info, we got a few emails on this, it wasn't actually a car in our inventory, a customer of ours asked us to post it with our inventory as a condition of a sale with him and after we discovered he misrepresented the mustang we took it down off our website. Regards, Ash" Jim

This car was brought to my attention a week or two back by a potential buyer when it was advertised on a dealerships website. I provided him with the 411 on the car not being a "real" Shelby GT although the dash plaque appears to be authentic. The SAI Registry has no owner info on 07SGT4261 so I'm not sure if that SGT is still with us or if somehow its dash plaque walked off when the owner wasn't looking. clark17357
thanks for emailing him, I wanted to but wasn't sure how to approach it When I looked at the dealer website, there seemed to be an overall professional approach to describing their cars accurately. That and I make my living effectively communicating with people (most of the time, anyway). Jim

shelbymotorsports
Update August 2014. Just received another inquiry on this car, 07SGT4261, so it appears someone is still trying to pass it off as a Shelby GT. The VIN number of the car that this CSM plaque is currently on is 1ZVHT82H475266580 which is NOT a Shelby GT VIN. This VIN comes back to a 2007 Grabber Orange Mustang GT. Just to be clear the above VIN number does NOT match CSM 07SGT4261 and is NOT a Shelby GT VIN number. Buyer beware. Steve
