yoggiebhr
Hey all, I'm taking a road trip this week in the Shelby and I wanted to know if anyone could suggest cool things to do along the way. I was wondering if there were any cool car places on my route. I'll be traveling from Montgomery Alabama to Alpena Michigan. Most of my trip is straight up I-65 and I'll be on the road Thursday and Friday. Any suggestions? Thanks all! Gregg
MY500SS
Ummmm, you could see the Corvette assembly line in Bowling Green Kentucky. Should be a great drive, travel safe.

Shelby65_mustang
If you take 69 from Indianapolis you could go to the Auburn - Cord Museum in Auburn Indiana just north of Ft Wayne.
Redlinetoys
Definitely plan to check out the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green. Sometimes you can include a factory tour. Then stop just off I65 in Greenwood (south Indy) and enjoy the huge Ray Skillman Classic Car Museum and dealership. The last time I was there he had a number of stunning early Shelbys. Then hit the Indy 500 Museum and take a bus ride around the track. You are in for a great trip with just those facilities. Oh yeah, a great stop for lunch or dinner. Google the 5&Diner stainless diner restraint near Franklin TN. great breakfast food, sandwiches, shakes and music! Downtown Nashville is an outstanding stop for an overnight stay. The bars downtown all have open doors and live bands in the windows. You can leave your car at the hotel and ride a shuttle downtown from many of the hotels. Great music and sights. Redlinetoys
Oh yea, Skillman is also a Roush dealer and there will likely be anywhere from a dozen to three dozen awesome new Stangs to check out at the Ford dealer on the same grounds. JT93
If you're going to take I-94 and US-23 once you get into Michigan stop by Ann Arbor. Great town to visit with some amazing museums, doesn't matter if you're a fan of University or not. If you are coming this way and the timing is right give me a shout and I can meet up with you. Word of advice, if you happen to be coming through on Saturday try to avoid the area possibly taking 69 through Lansing. There's a football game in town (Minnesota vs. Michigan) and traffic will be in a standstill for hours on end.

Redlinetoys
Dearborn and Ford Museum are great, but you already have a pretty long drive. That area is probably 4-5 hours (total) out of your way and you cannot do the museum justice without spending the day. The other museums mentioned are right on your route and would be great for a 1-4 hour visit. Looking forward to hearing what you ended up seeing! Gregg I envy you your trip and the potential visits suggested by members; however, it looks to me as if you might get to make one decent stop a day. Better change your itinerary to include Monday through Wednesday as well as Thursday and Friday...
