Recommended Posts

I recently traded in my 2007 GT500 for a 2013. I have an air raid filter and resonator delete and now want to get a an axleback exhaust kit. I want it noticeably louder and more aggressive sounding, but not over the top obnoxous....any recommendations? i was looking at the Borla S-type perhaps?

I have the Borla ATAK axle-backs on my '13 GT500. They have a fantastic deep growl without being obnoxious. You can slither out of your neighborhood in the early hours without waking anyone if you are light-footed, yet have a Shelby that sounds like it should when you get it on!

And no drone....!

Just remember that all the axleback mufflers are tested on an otherwise stock exhaust setup. Once you go to headers or an offroad pipe those axlebacks you used to love will be horrendously louder. I went through that multi-thousand dollar experiment myself and now with headers I am back to running my stock mufflers. I don't think you would be disappointed with the Borla S. A lot of guys swear by Corsa sport as well as far as not having drone. I would really pay attention to selecting something with no drone as that will make you just hate driving your car.

My 14 Shelby convertible fits a CORSA Sport axle back with black tips. In lower rounds it almost sound like stock-sound, just a little bit louder. It's getting much more aggressive up from 1.800 rpm. I personally like the black tips, what suits better to the dark-gray bumper coverage.

What I like absolutely most are the sloped tips, that also suits perfectly with the bumpers design.
