Surprises at get togethers

We have the Florida group coming together this coming weekend, the information about it is in a thread below. Anyone apprehensive about coming to a event like this need not worry. The people you'll meet will far exceed your expectations by a mile. I once had one of the largest trading clubs on the net about 8 years ago and we arranged a get together in Vegas. After finding out who everyone was I was the low man on the totem pole, one of my best friends in the club set beside me, I never did know what he did during club activities, but the old fart was a sitting federal judge, I guess for a couple of years I could have had my way in Texas.

The bottom line is::: Theses get togethers are very special. one should not fear about coming. If one has to drive that extra mile, believe me, it will be worth. The people you'll meet and the meeting will be with you a lifetime. Thousand times better than reunions.

I agree. I started going to Mustang gatherings about 6 years ago and since the first one I have only missed one due to my Grandmothers funeral. They're a blast, and after the festivities are done we have an informal "Parking Lot Party" which has been known to go on as late as 4am.

You hit that one right. Last month I flew from the west coast to the east coast to the Nags Head Kitty Hawk Meet and greet. I have never done something like that. Some here at home said "so your flying across the US to meet people you have never met, and you know them from the internet" !! I said yes, and they have also paid my air fair. They said "you gotta be joking". I said Nope.

I will be doing it again for sure. :happy feet:

Okay you convinced me to come to your meet Lutz.....you all don't still lynch people in your state do you? :hysterical:

Under Florida law, you are allowed to hang Mustang thieves only! Ole Sparky takes care of the rest. Come on down, it will be a blast.

What defines Yankee?

Just kidding about yankees! I am originally from Pittsburgh Pa. home of the #1 Pittsburgh Steelers!

There are still a few Confederates down here that would like to hang a few yankees though! You will recognize them right away when you see the Confederate Flag in their back window right next to the shotgun. Now if if this fits your description, 1Badshow put me up to saying this! :hysterical2: No offense intended in this post but I will leave with this...

A cardiologist died and was given an elaborate funeral. A huge heart covered in flowers stood behind the casket during the service. Following the eulogy, the heart opened, and the casket rolled inside. The heart then closed, sealing the doctor in the beautiful heart forever. At that point, one of the mourners burst into laughter. When all eyes stared at him, he said, "I'm sorry, I was just thinking of my own funeral..... I'm a gynecologist." That's when the proctologist fainted.

Well, I'm no federal judge, but I'll be there! Can't wait to meet everyone. One thing about get-togethers...they always end with people saying, "So when are we gonna do this again?" Making my way from Atlanta, total distance 539.44 miles (with a stop in Jacksonville) according to Mapquest. Just got my first oil change today and ready to roll! :shift:

Hey, I'm originally from up North... Vero Beach

I can't wait for this M&G, I responded to a post from a member south of me who wanted to cruise up together

We exchanged a few PM's and have talked on the phone, I also got to check out his car (online) It is BADASS and you guys are going to love it. We're driving up tandem. How cool is it for all those folks on I-95 who will get to see not 1 but 2 Shelby GT500' on the Hwy at the same time, I hope he keeps his foot out of it so I can keep up.

Hey Pig, sometimes Mapquest is fubar. I have an RV Park in Georgia at exit 127 and I travel I-75 all the time. I-4 in Florida is at mile marker 263 and you start in Florida at mile marker 472. You might want to ask our host if it is easier to come from I-75 and I-4 or from the Jacksonville way which I believe is going to route you over the river and through the hills. Just my .02 cents. I would drive with you but I am coming from South Florida. From our RV Park I-4 is 4 1/2 hours. Watch out for the locals at the 122, 117, 98, 45, 15, 12, and 5 mile stickers. In Florida the bears love to run around Lake City and down around the 329.

Drive carefully. By the way, I drove that stretch over 20 times last year.

What part of town? I'm 'Burgh born and raised - still here.

Spent my younger years in Pleasant Hills and later in the Edgeworth area. I live in Florida now and spent my career in Toledo, Ohio and Glenwood Springs, Colorado so I just get back to the burgh to visit family. I have family all over that area. Our family farm (Great Grand Pap) which has recently been sold (2 Years ago) was out at the intersection of Rt.51 and Rt.48 the other side of Elizabeth. We still have our hunting camp up in Elk County Pa..

Mark, the Mapquest is straight. I'm swinging thru Jax to pick up a buddy of mine and crash there Friday night. Thanks for the info on the smokeys, i know they can be bad on I-75. Actually, my friend in Jax...half the people in his family are cops. They're like my second family. If his brother is on duty Friday night we're gonna have some FUN!!! :shift: He said last time they had "Chase Night" they totalled 1 patrol car and wrecked 2 others chasing his cousin's 67 fastback. :hysterical2: Hopefully we won't get that crazy! This weekend is gonna be awesome. :banana piano:
