ccsl7578
Hey All, Getting ready to replace my 2 piece spark plugs and wanted to confirm some things I've read on past posts on this forum and on other Mustang forums.... It sounds like most of the replacement plugs are 2 piece also except for maybe the Brisk plugs??? Does anyone else make a one piece plug? I noticed in the TSB that it didn't say to put anti sieze on the threads, don't the threads need some on them too? Thanks!! Mark
Kevin Patten
You do not want to use anti-seize on the plugs . Anti-seize is inductive not conductive which can cause misfires . I did it once and had problems - won't do it again . I use a small amount of Kroil lubricant on the threads . Also when removing the plugs I make sure that the engine is cold and then break loose the plugs a 1/4 turn then spray Kroil down around it - let it set for 20-30 minutes and then remove the plugs . they should turn out by hand - if not you may have problems . There are other posts on this subject. JMO
KOBRA2848
I replaced the ones in my wife's Shelby GT right at 30,000 miles and had no problems. I replaced them with the Motorcraft replacements from American Muscle. Best price I could find. I did follow the instructions and put a very thin film of nickle anti sieze only on the smooth shell below the threads making sure I stayed away from the tip. No problems and the wife couldn't be happier. She said she thought it seemed to have more power but it could be the KR mufflers I put on at the same time. Take your time and follow the instructions and you should be OK. Thanks Mark
JASPONY
I used the Kroil on mine to get them out; didn't break any. I replaced them with the one-piece Champion plugs...they have been in for about 15k miles and no issues. http://www.sparkplugs.com/product.aspx?zpid=8352

SGT3477
i am just about to do mine as well ordered replacement motorcraft plugs. i was told to use the nickel anti seize on the new plugs to avoid the carbon build up that tends to hold and sometimes break the lower part of the (insane ) plug. i have everything i need now except that nickel stuff. local discount and autozones both say they do not carry it. ordering from amazon :
