Borla exhaust system

I have 2008 Shelby GT500. Is there any drone associated with the installation of the Borla "Stinger" Cat Back Exhaust System Model 140135. Or do I have to install model 140210 that adds the X pipe?

there absolutely IS drone with these. they look good and sound bad ass, but the drone will pretty much ruin it for normal driving conditions. even if you think it's not so bad at first, you will eventually end up changing your mind. if you absolutely must have them, then also get yourself a set of dynomax (or other brand) resonators and have them welded inline after the x/h-pipe.

If your car is lowered be careful with Borla pipes. The set I had banged on the axle.

i agree with that. that's happening to me now. my OEM pipes were crimped near the axle so there was more clearance. my borla pipes are mandrel-bent so there is less clearance. added a KR axle-reservoir kit to my car and now the breather tube fitting taps against the pipe, periodically. not sure what to do about it now.

Believe it or not I had to buy the original pipes AGAIN to fix the clang!

yeah, i believe it. i originally bought the borla touring catback kit from shelby then sold the mufflers and left the catback pipes on. i still have the OEM pipes, but i'm tired of monkeying around with everything and i finally have it sounding exactly how i want it (hi-flow cats, resonators, KR mufflers).
