interested in what that 58 mile still in the wrapper Ford GT will go for....... :drop:

wonder if it had the recalled/upgraded control arms installed......(17k each..... :drop:).

VIN number is later in the sequence so probably not affected. In any case, all vehicles were located and the repair done if needed. Ford sent a factory crew to do the swap.

Have no idea on what they mean by "Carroll oversaw the work at the Shelby workshop in Gardena through to completion, just prior to his sad and untimely death."

This car is currently for sale in Los Angeles, http://www.dupontregistry.com/autos/Search/DRauSearchDetails.aspx?itemid=1862533 , where they make no mention of this connection.

I would expect a more clear & detailed B-J description considering the knowledge Steve Davis has with the Series 1 cars.

As of right now I don't see this car having any connection with Carroll other than it being one of the 249 Series 1 cars produced.

SAI & Registry policy allows the confirming of numbers provided to us but not putting out there missing info. I'm sure someone attending the auction will post the CSM number.

It does appear that someone has been previously trying to sell this SGT for $49,995

Thanks Steve. I am a bit curious why BJ doesn't employ and involve some Shelby group to verify, validate, and word-smith their ads for the Shelbys. They employ and involve NCRS on Corvette descriptions, to make sure they are correct, accurate, and not exaggerated. I would not hesitate to bid on a Corvette due to this, being a loyal long time NCRS member I know the people who are helping. But with a Shelby, I'm not sure I would have anywhere near the same confidence.

I can only speculate that the folks at B-J are a little over confident in their Shelby knowledge. As others have pointed out in the past, especially when it comes to their live bidding commentary, erroneous statements have been made that can make you cringe.

But like probably all auction companies, they can always fall back on the disclaimers that both sellers & buyers agree to, meaning do your homework folks.

Absolutely correct, but after all Craig and Steve have owned and restored so many Shelbys, like the famous "Green Hornet", they must be experts, right?? :hysterical2:

There was a Series 1 car over at the Los Angeles Shelby headquarters which sat around there for quite some time. For privacy reasons I can't get into who owned the car but perhaps that car is the B-J auction car. I don't recall anything about that car being the fastest Series 1 and I'm not sure what they mean by "asking to fabricate a supercharger" when many of the Series 1 cars were already supercharged from the factory.

The seller or B-J really need to add to the cars auction description before any connection can be confirmed.
