thewheelman
Granted, I'd groan too if I had to haul my big butt around, but my 07 GT 500 has about 40k on the clock and I'm noticing a groaning noise from the rear end. It only occurs when I'm taking off, making a 90 degree turn--like at a stop sign. Only happens at very low speed--just taking off and only when turning (either way) like at an intersection. Any ideas? Any similar experiences?
Secondo
Change the fluid per Ford specs and don't forget the friction modifier additive.
2010KonaBlueGT
Change the fluid per Ford specs and don't forget the friction modifier additive. Yep. You can get away with just adding friction modifier. That is the typical symptom of the posi trak clutches groaning. I've 'fixed' many customer cars with a $2.00 bottle of friction modifier. ingram4868
I changed the differential fluid to Royal Purple and 1 bottle of Ford friction modifier and all is well in the world again.

Phill That certainly did the trick, thanks guys, but the local Ford dealer got a LOT more than $2.00 for the friction modifier! All is quiet in the rear end! MikeCMM
Thanks for the heads up on this. I ran into the same issue on my F - 150 pick up truck. I put in the friction additive and it fixed the problem. Sounds like I will have to add the same thing for the cars.
