buffalotr8
I have a 2007 GT500 and I am considering new rims and I see people selling their track pack rims from the 2011's and up and I was wondering if anyone has put them on our style car and if so I would like to see some pictures. Thanks
SteelSteeds
I will be installing mine tomorrow evening, pictures to follow after that. I went with 19" all around, 295/35R19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports in the back, stock Goodyear Supercar tires up front (they were nearly new, couldn't justify replacing them). buffalotr8
Did you buy the rims new? I would like to see how they look for sure. I was wondering if anyone has bought someone's takeoff 20/19inch track pack rims and put them on our cars. Just wondering if they fit well. SteelSteeds
I bought them used, from a gentleman who wanted 20" wheels all around on his car. He bought a second set, then sold me the 4 19" wheels. One pair of tires was shot, one was like new, which was exactly what I needed since I wanted wider rubber in the back. I had the good tires dismounted, the correct TPMS sensors installed (the 2010+ sensors won't talk to the OBD computer on the older cars), and remounted. I will need to reprogram the sensors, and tell the computer the tire size has changed. I am taking my car to the big meet hosted by Grabber this Saturday, will have plenty of photos then, if not before.
buffalotr8
Sounds great. I didn't know there was an issue with the newer tpms and our cars. Great info thanks!
SteelSteeds
The pictures I took today at the Meet & Greet didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped, I'll try to get some better ones in the next day or two. Hopefully this gives you an idea!
Snake Handler
Here you go. The first pic is with 19s on the front and 20s on the rear. The second pic is 19s on all four corners. buffalotr8
Thanks guys they look awesome. Snake handler, did you buy two full sets of 19/20s to see if you liked the 19s or 20s? Also did you have to change out the tpms?
6-Speed
The 2011/2012 SVTPP wheels look stunning on the 2007 - 2009 cars IMO; 20" in back and 19" up front. They look even better when the car is lowered as they really fill up the wheel well. Edited August 17, 2013 by 6-Speed
6-Speed
Also did you have to change out the tpms? Yes you need to change the TPMS sensors, which are integral with the valve stem. The sensors for the 2010 to 2014 models are incompatible with the 2007 to 2009 TPMS. You can swap in the ones on your OEM wheels or buy new ones. I suggest buying new sensors since they have an internal battery and therefore a limited life (6 to 10 years). I purchased a set from American Muscle that are made by Oro-Tek; they are integrated with the valve stem. I had Discount Tire install the sensors and balance the tires. I have a TPMS transmitter so I was able to train the sensors after installing the wheels. Edited August 11, 2013 by 6-Speed
buffalotr8
6-Speed, did you buy the rims used? Obviously the offset, backspace is perfect on our cars?
6-Speed
Yes I bought a set of take off wheels and tires from a 2012 GT500 with low mileage. My OEM tires were getting old and buying the wheels along with relatively new tires was a bonus. The backspace/offset is fine for our model. I noticed the rear wheels/tires don't stick out into the fender as much as the OEM combination. Another thing to consider is calibrating the speedometer for a larger size rear tire. buffalotr8
That sounds great! Time to post a local ad and see what I come up with!
Snake Handler
Thanks guys they look awesome. Snake handler, did you buy two full sets of 19/20s to see if you liked the 19s or 20s? Also did you have to change out the tpms? I bought a set of Ford Racing 19s and installed the banded sensors. The 19s and 20s are take offs and I have them on my Boss 302 now. The 19s are on all four corners on the GT500. Edited August 11, 2013 by Snake Handler
scforsberg
@steelsteeds Hello, I was wondering were you got you side louvers from? I really like the flush look of those side louvers and can't find them. Any help would be great. Thanks

Cobramach1
I know they're not the track pack wheels, but this is what the stock '10-12 wheel looks like on the '07-09 cars. I like subtle and the original shiny wheels were too much for me with the alloy stripes on a black car. Now the wheels nearly match the stripes. ShelbyEra08
when people are talking about the Track Pack wheels, has anyone installed the GT Track Pack wheels on a GT500? this wheel is definitely one of my favorite Ford wheels
