GT500-2007
I have a simple question. Changed the front pads on my 2007 GT500. When I reinstall the spring retainer clip under the two mounting pins should the mounting pins place tension on the spring clip so the clip sits snug against the top of the rotor or should the clip just float freely under the two pins? If the clip is under tension it sits snug against the edge of the rotor and makes a strong grinding noise (i.e. metal against metal) but when I let the clip "float" then no noise. I am running a set of slotted Steeda rotors on the car, not the stock factory rotors. Thanks for the help. GT
Nitro
The clip when installed properly presses on the top of the brake pads to keep them from rattling.
barspen
I used this video for changing the pads on my 2011. http://youtu.be/iTluwZB5QYE There should be tension on the spring retainer clip.
