"Getaway" Movie trailer online featuring Super Snake

Recommended Posts

Interesting. Other than the Supersnake stripe being too narrow. Must be a must see with a GT500 as one of the main characters! August 30th opening. That just looks so wrong with that stripe!!! Whey didn't they get the right stripes?

I'm sure it will be a typical movie that will drive us Shelby guys nuts. They will probably have one or two real GT500's for the nice scenes and then a few Mustang GT based cars to do stunts and such. I almost don't want to watch it as I'll pick it apart to bad! :) Oh well, good car action is always awesome. I enjoyed Fast 6 even with it's out of the world stunt fakeness and 500 mile runway.

Wait... you mean cars DON'T carry their front tires 300 feet while doing a smoky burnout? Heh heh heh...

Stripes look pretty good to me or is my monitor that bad that I'm missing something?

Below are stripe pics from the movie car and a "real" SS.

Pull up your picture of the movie car. Look at the little pop up in the corner of the clip of the trailer and the picture on the poster. Not the same car. Look at the little pop up picture vs. the larger picture. The stripe is much more narrow in the actual trailer. I think that movie poster picture is an actual SS, where the stunt cars and cars in the movie have a narrower SS stripe.

Without two photos taken at the same angle its hard for me to see. I tried to grab some more screen shots, see below.

It is true that the movie cars are not real Super Snakes, by real I mean a SS built by SAI with an official CSM number, but if I recall the SS parts were obtained from SAI for these movie cars. It doesn't make sense to obtain all the SS parts from us but then say no we'll pass on the stripes and make our own. Always a possibility I suppose.

Look at the distance between the stripe and the hood vents. Here's a good comparison from your pic. Look at the smaller stripes compared to the steering wheel, etc. Also, the movie car stripes are glossy. I bet it is 2-3" narrower at least.

Yes I noticed that earlier but then when I compare the hood stripe width to say the rear view mirror width or the distance between the headrests I just don't see them being 2-3" narrower. We'll know more and be able to post more in about a month.

Rear shots give good perspective with the brake light and license plate opening. All three stripes on the movie car are within the width of the single black stripe of an actual SS. All I know is right when I saw the first image in the trailer, I knew it was very wrong. They could have done this a little bit better. Maybe it will only matter to a few of us but....... :)

Ahhh much more obvious in those pics but the rear valance & trunk spoiler are even more egregious :)

So, Bucky back in the body shop is taking his break when the movie hot shots roll in with this Mustang all chewed up from filming and say, "Repaint it." And he does, but when he gets down to the stripes....they ain't lookin', nobody knows what he's doin' so Bucky just paints 'em as he sees 'em........knowhatimean?

Saw the movie, it was not very good! The car is not a supper snake nor are they gt500's. Sad, the stripe is wrong to skinny the wheels in the movie are the stock 2007-2009 oem gt500 wheels painted/black powder coated. Best part is close up shows tack on left Speedo on right. Yupp that aint right. Movie poster shows super snake with alcola wheels. WTF

Selena looks like she's 10 in the movie and her acting is horrible.

One thing that should be noted about the car not looking right is that they do sort of make up for that when Selena says she bought a super snake AND THEN customized it to her tastes. That gets them some leeway in the looks of the car overall.

So it's my granddaughters birthday, she likes the disney characters (Selena Gomez) and my wife likes movies with more action and less talk since english is not her first language and I thought perfect, This would be a great opportunity to see this movie and a great birthday present!

An hour (+) long chase scene with about 10 minutes of "acting".

We all agreed it was an "ok" movie but at the end, my granddaughter say's; I don't get it, you mean the vilian put the hero through all that just to prove he "still had it"?

My response, uuhh.......good question, Happy Birthday!
