Legacy Bank 4th Annual Shelby Car Show

Recommended Posts

If recall correctly I arrived at 8am last year. That gave me a spot up front and the lot filled quickly after that. There really isn't a bad spot in the lot but each year this event grows. The '60's Mustangs usually take infront of the bank and the Cobras take the drive up teller area. In the past Scat sets up a table and canopy behide/next to the drive up tellers. Last year SA parked the trailer and cars across from the drive up tellers.

See everyone there. I talked with Dave Greer the other day and he's planning on being there too. I was in Las Vegas this week and stopped by the Shelby shop and spoke with John Luft for a while and he said that he's planning on being here too.

Should be another great get-together.

The president of Shelby is going to be at an event where both the regional and state director were not even informed of.... Think they are trying to tell me something????

Wouldn't know. Does he typically inform the Directors of every trip into the Region/State?

No, and in this case neither he nor anyone at Shelby notified anyone in advance about the event. I also never got an email from SCAT. As the Shelby director for Texas, I (at one time) thought I should be made aware of these things. If noting else so I could send emails and post on the various Shelby related websites and Facebook pages.

It just seems strange that they ask for my help and then act like they don't want it.

SCAT is our local Shelby club and it has been around for almost 25 years. It has nothing to do with Team Shelby. Carroll Shelby would come to many of the club conventions each year when they were more of a convention than a show. He had many friends here and in the club. Jason provides further insight for the show at Legacy Bank, our club affiliation with the show and the Shelby family which owns Legacy Bank.

Maybe next year we'll see more south Texas cars here at the show.

This was a great event. Texas Legacy Bank, their employees, and SCAT Volunteers did a great job again this year. In my opinion it was better than last year with more cars. Check in was a breeze. Everyone was issued an event ID. Plenty of ice cold bottled water, great goodie bag with free food coupons, live music, Shelby Trailer with Raptor, Shelby Focus, Shelby GT350, & Supersnake with I believe the wide rearend enhancement. Dang only thing missing was cold beer. The banks folks worked very hard to make you feel welcome and appreciated you bringing your cars to the show.

I got there early and actually got a decent parking place with some forum friends in the shade. The event was 10-2pm which was just the right amount of time. They had all kinds of additional freebies including pics with a Cobra for free inside the bank.

There was a great selection of Cobra & Shelby Mustangs. I think more than last year. This year's t-shirt was nice looking and better than last years. I received several e-mail updates from the bank on the event prior to my arrival. Hopefully we can get some pics posted. My camera crapped out on me, but I got some Iphone shots will try and post them when I get back home.

Looking forward to the event next year. Kudos to Texas Legacy Bank and hope to see you next year. One of my favorite events.

Guys, this is not a Team Shelby event, nor a Shelby America event, nor is it a SCAT event. The 1st Legacy Bank event was organized by SCAT as SCAT's 20th Anaversery Show, but the last three years are all organized and run by the Legacy Bank. SCAT does volenteer and support but does not run it.

This is an annual event that the Bank uses to not only bring in new customers but also thank it's existing customers.

I can only assume that involvement of Shelby America and the Foundation is done as a favor to the Shelby family.

I spoke briefly with Aaron Shelby thanking him for another great event and told him that there are many more Shelby Autos enthusiast who would love to attend. Aaron replied that all are welcome and to contact Ginger Kimbrell to be included in future communication.

Once again, contact Ginger Kimbrell for specific communication regarding the Legacy Bank and it's events. She will be more than happy to include you on future emails.

Please keep in mind that this is an event organized by a local North Texas Bank, not a promotions company. The Legacy Bank does a fantastic job, but they are a bank and organizing a Show and Shine is not what they do.

Jon Luft announced that Shelby America will have a larger presents in North Texas in the future. John did not/could not give any specifics at this time but alluded that SA is working with some North Texas Ford Dealerships.

Just got in from Plano, Texas tonight and was reflecting back on this event. Not sure how everyone else feels, but I took a minute tonight to send Ginger an e-mail thanking the Legacy Texas Bank, Employees, and Mr. Shelby for putting this on for everyone again this year.

This has become my favorite car show event and it is especially nice to meet some of the forum members and talk trash and swap ideas and car stories.

See you guys and girls next year. Dave I am fixing to send you some photos of what you and Melody missed. See you soon,

Regards.............. GG

I enjoyed it all. I sent a thank you email to Ginger and the staff as soon as I go home. She answered it within the hour. I agree with everyone else the show gets better with age.

Here is the link to my photos. Enjoy.

I say Corey White from Sam Pack Five Star Ford in attendance over at the SA trailer. He is their top Mustang salesperson. I've spoke with him a few times and he is a great guy.

+1... Corey was very helpful when I was looking for my 13 SBY Boss 302 LS last year. He's both a salesman and an enthusiast.
