art4tees
Picked up the Shelby today with the new SC. Unbelievable!!! Wow!!! Love it. 496 HP, 387 Torque at the Flywheel, 422 RWHP, 328 torque.. 8 psi. He set it up to expand in the future to 20 psi which would add another 110 HP or more!!! THink I'll enjoy it as it is for now.... Thanks for all of your advice during this big decision. I'll load a pic tomorrow of the engine.... Later Guys!! twobjshelbys
Do not under any circumstances exceed the max flywheel hp of I think 625. The internals can't handle it Shelby had mine at 550. Definitely awoke the inner beast Be careful with stock tires on cold pavement. It's real easy to get oversteer with cold tires. , cold road and accelerating when turning with that much HP

Shelby Nick
Congratulations! That realy looks awesome! I am sure you are very happy with the results. I am actually driving out to Shelby on Thursday for the SC upgrade.I am also installing the Kenne Bell. I would like to pick your brain a little about the install and any advise you might have. If you wouldn't mind my number is 714-402-6579. Thanks, Nick

Also the Cold Tires, I am very lucky, almost wrecked my shelby and lucky no one got hurt, this was in second gear nailing the gas after just rolling in first. Have to respect the power. Congrats, it looks Great!!!!!!!!!!! Edited May 15, 2013 by carnut12

ITHERTZ66
Nice work. Lots of power there with little boost. 8psi seems very safe to me! Is your car an automatic? Edited May 15, 2013 by ITHERTZ66
Helix
I love the placement of the filter personally, on top of the huge horsepower. That's a great design.
MyBlueHeaven
Looks awesome .... can you share any info on the strut tower brace?? It's a Ford Racing strut tower brace, it came on the 10-12 GT500's. And personnaly I like the V-6/Bullitt bar that I have better and it also fits over the Kenne bell, I think the design of that GT 500 Bar is a little odd, but that's just my opinion . See the link below for a description of his bar. http://www.americanm...-1012gt500.html Edited May 16, 2013 by MyBlueHeaven

Certainly more that 110hp. I think the rule of thumb is 7% of base hp per lb of boost. 319 bhp x .07 = 22.33 bhp each lb x (12 more) = 268 bhp in addition to what you already have. (You gained 177hp with 8 lbs) - She'll blow up without internal mods, guaranteed. edit*** Oh, and congratulations and welcome to the club! They are fun, aren't they? art4tees
Yes, car is an automatic. Due to rain all week, haven't had it out but twice so still learning what "not" to do... Can be scary fast. Ford Racing strut brace was something my installer had on hand and the previous brace needed to be manipulated to make it work, so we went with this new one. I don't mind it. Fits and works so that's all that is important. Can always change it in the future if I want. SC, Shelby dash mount gauge pod, oil manifold, and all other parts and labor came to around $8300.00 or so. We used a better belt tensioner and a few other upgrades to head off normal future problems with using some of the stock parts. Really going to love it, I am sure.... jconigli
That's a great set up. I also have a Kenne Bell with a stage 2. I have 10-11 LBS of boost with a KB tune. The car runs excellent. I also had to install a KB billet tensioner, the belt was slipping a bit. I'm afraid to get it on the dyno , one day.. John

Hey there art4tees ... did you have to lower your engine any to clear that strut tower brace? I have a 2008 SGT with the stock hood, the same KB SC as you, and also the same strut tower brace. I cannot safely close my hood. Also the passenger side intake tubing hits on the strut tower brace. So I removed it for now. The only difference I can see between your setup and mine is that you are using the stock throttle body, where I have the upgraded KB throttle body, which has a slightly larger and different shape I have the adjustable billet engine mounts so I can lower the engine and clear the brace by 1/4 inch, but have not installed them yet. Just gathering info. Let me know please thx RC
HARALD KELLEY
Congrats. Enjoy the added HP but be careful as others have mentioned. Different SC (Paxton-centrifugal) but I am at the 424ish RWHP and this seems to be very safe HP with the 4.6. Yea they cost a lot more but well worth it as they're a lot less noisy than the Nitto's too
