410
Ok here goes. I have an 07 GT500 with roughly 12,000 Km or about 7,500 miles. I am the second owner of the car. Two days after purchasing the car the Master cylinder for the clutch let go. Now here is where things get funky. BERFORE I purchased the car about eight months ago the clutch was done at Ford, and after that about four months ago an after market tranny was put in. ( T6060 short throw tranny)Now Ford won't warranty the clutch because of the after market tranny, which is understandable. So the car was sent to the Tranny place for review. The tranny place has since said that ford will now honor the master cylinder under warranty and the tranny place will conduct the labor for the repairs under warranty. Now my question is when the master cylinder let go didn't it blow oil all over the clutch? And if so shouldn't the whole clutch be replaced? The tranny place said the clutch is fine and there is no oil on the clutch, but I am not so sure. I am not a mechanic by any means, and am just looking for some opions. Any help would be appreciated. 54First
The TR6060 is stock, not aftermarket. The short throw is the shifter only, not the transmission. The master cylinder is on your firewall, nowhere near the clutch. If it was the slave cylinder/throwout bearing then fluid on the clutch is possible. 410
Sorry Steve, like I said I am no mechanic. The tranny was changed to the Magnum TUKT12019 with the 2.66 gear ratio.
