Wife's new toy ('14 GT 500)

My wife ordered her GT500 several months ago, but has been wondering why the dealership hasn't been giving her updates lately. Trust me, she has been staying on top of this production as if it were one of the kids. I know why the dealership hasn't been responding, it's because the dealership and I have been working some details out in the background!

Anyway, the car rolled off the train on 4/12, and after dealer prep and coordinating schedules, I picked up the GT 500 this past Friday 4/19, while my wife was at a volleyball tournament in Dallas, TX with our 16 year old. It's all planned so the car will be in my wife's parking spot when she gets to work on Monday, and after a long and busy weekend out of town I bet she'll be surprised. I wonder how she'll react? Any thoughts?

I can say in the little driving that I did get to do on Friday is WOW! This car flies and is awesome. I believe some sticky tires will be ordered soon!

I have been researching parts and accessories, and will be looking at a performance package in the near future (throttle body, tuner, sc pulley, air intake, etc....). Any preference or preferred tuner you'll would recommend?

Looking forward to adding my family to this family!

Congrats from another Dallas Shelby owner! She's going to love it! What a beautiful car.....

This thing is already a beast and I recommend she drive this for a while before you decide on any modifications ------ unless you just want to modify.

If you want to modify, I always use one of these 3 depending:

True Street Motorsports in Mckinney, Texas (http://www.truestreetmotorsports.com/) - Talk with Clint and Tim

21st Century Musclecars in Addison, Texas (http://21stcenturymu...m/eng-ford.aspx) - Talk with John Page

Lone Star Performance in Addiston, Texas (http://www.lonestarperformance.com/) - Talk with Brian Porter

And, since you want to keep it nice and clean, I highly recommend:

http://www.adamspolishes.com/ ---- try their shampoo ------ it's awesome. Everything they have is great....

http://www.zainostore.com/ ---- everything is awesome

My bet is when she spots her new car in her space at work she will never enter the building and will spend the day driving that thing instead of going to work. let us know what happens.

For whatever reason, women driving a Shelby seems to be something of an oddity in our part of the country. I always get the strangest questions-like "can you really drive that stick shift'? Or "is your husband around so I can ask him some questions about the motor, etc?" Anyway, tell her to enjoy the ride and get ready for the looky loos and the questions. That is really fun. :salute:

Well she got to work this morning and it all broke loose, if you know what I mean. I wasn't there, but from what I was told every emotion possible was displayed. Everyone was outside (she works for a family business), and screams were heard with the windows up in her Expedition. Disbelief, amazement, disbelief again, crying, amazement, and then the demand for the keys. It took less than a minute for her to cycle through the emotional factors before she was off on the road. She's my girl, and in true style, she took off with the tires smoking. Man I love this women. More to come and it is time to have fun.

@stewarbc - thanks for the information. We are planning on driving the car for a while, but as an old street, I mean, drag racer, I'm inclined to squeeze out every bit of HP I can!

@rocky - you are correct, she took it for a test drive around the office and is leaving shortly to enjoy the rest of the afternoon in her new ride.

@verlyn12 - I know what you mean, but I'd actually prefer a lot more women driving high performance vehicles like this because it definitely ends up being a true family affair!

@moncho - yep, it's sterling gray.
