The Arrival.....

Greetings to all,

So, after about two weeks of arranging transportation, waiting for the transport, and trying to learn more patience, our new baby finally arrived last night! Very exciting moment for sure. This is a first for me, as far as having one taken off a transport and delivered.

So, I put together this video, in an attempt to show where the fascination with Grabber Blue started with me, as well as a few favorites I have kept on file along the way. Hope you enjoy.

And, I also have an odd question for all you. As most of the Shelby car people will quickly notice, the fender snakes on this car are backward. Facing the wrong way. I have no idea how this happened. The car has never been in an accident. I looked up replacement snakes on line, and it clearly shows they have alignment pins, that are not symmetrical in position, and, they are different sizes....So, the question is, how? Did someone steal the originals, and someone replaced them, and cut the guide pins off? I e mailed the dealer today to see if they could contact the previous owner and see what they can find out......Can't see how they would have been placed backward at the factory, but they do not look as though they have been disturbed or replaced......

Any thoughts??

Mike

yep they are backwards

ONE of ONE LOL

The grabber blue was in the running for me but that candy red it had to be for me.

Nice car if you ever find out the story please post.

Cool vid Mikey, The "snake mistake" is a puzzle. Dumb ass on the line at the factory? Prior owner replaced them? Was it in any accidents and a body shop replaced them wrong?

Easy fix...remove and swap them with 3M double sided auto tape. If they have pins and they dont fit, cut them and forget it. Love the color.....Wayne

Thanks Wayne, appreciate it. My dealer talked to the previous owner. He did not swap the snakes, and there is no knowledge of any previous accident. No accidents showing on CarFax either.....Who knows. Yeah, swapping them out is no biggie, but I guess I was just curious if this was a "factory" blem", or something else....

Thanks,

Mike

keep it that way, maybe it will be like a misprinted dollar, a rarity, possibly worth millions :) btw, great color you will not see everywhere

Yep. I plan to just leave em for now, unless I can unravel the mystery.......

GREAT Looking Car B) Congrats !!!!

BlueByU.....Thank you. Gotta tell you, I tried in vain to get your user name, as the personalized plate for the new car......And in every conceivable combination thereof......California DMV wouldn't have it........Doubt they were all taken, so, I guess they are a bit paranoid about using...."Blue" in the plates..... :hysterical::hysterical:

I hope the picture comes out. I went to my local DMV and the lady at DMV went over plate names that were not being used and BlueByU is now mine in NJ

Color me so jealous.....California DMV is a pain in the butt to deal with. On line process, plug in your required plate, and they either confirm or deny.......I love that plate for the Grabber....CONGRATS!!!!
