VonGreenland Posted March 31, 2013 Report Share Posted March 31, 2013 My fiancé and I travelled from West Central Saskatchewan on March 13th to attend the Shelby Bash in Las Vegas with my 2011 GT500. We went in to Montana through Great Falls, through Idaho Falls then darted over to Reno, NV - San Francisco/Santa Cruz, Los Angeles, Palm Springs, then finally to Vegas for the Bash! After the bash we went back to Palm Springs to relax in the sun. We started our drive home on Thursday morning and drove from Palm Springs to Phoenix then up through Flagstaff to see the Grand Canyon. We end up staying at a very neat place that night called Marble Canyon in Arizona. I would actually recommend that over the Grand Canyon. Friday we went through Zion National Park in Utah (another very cool place) and made our way up the I-15 to Idaho Falls for the night and we were home by 8pm yesterday. A total of approx 8600kms/5400 miles. Last year we drove to Texas and that trip was approx 6600kms/4100 miles. The car averaged 18.9 mpg on this trip and it would have been better if I wouldn't have been driving like an ass most of the time during the Shelby Bash!! The Bash was a good time, If anyone is going to attend it in the future you MUST buy in to the track package. We didn't and if it wasn't for the ability of being able to take part in the "Parade Laps" I probably would have been a bit disappointed. Overall it was a very cool experience though. Lots of awesome cars. Hell of a road trip though... car ran great and we slept incredibly well in our own bed last night! Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I drove my 71 Torino Station Wagon from San Diego to Wisconsin through yellowstone a few years ago, so fun.
