Not sure if this is the right place to post about me being a new-be joining your Shelby Forum,,but I have to start somewhere.

Last week I purchased a 2011 SVT Shelby GT 500 Cpe. (White/red strips),I'm in Michigan and a retired welder from Ford Research and Enginnering Center in Dearborn,Mi.

My last 15 years was spent at PDC ,used to be called Design Center,I helped make chassis for international and prototype show cars,as well as advanced design vehicles for the future.I was known at PDC as "WelderBob" some here may know me.

My past includes a 1969 Boss 429 (#329of500) with mods from Ernie McQuewin and Doug Nash,a 1983 GT T-Top Mustang 5.0,4 spd, then I went off into street rods of many flavors and then on to Harleys which my chopper The Dragon Slayer took second place at Autorama in 2001.

Now at 63 yrs of age I need 4 wheels under my butt, legs ain't what they used to be and Harleys are heavy and a 14" over Girder don't help.

However I have never lost the Need or Speed,or the quest for more power.Like in HP !

Still learning the car,and Michigan weather does not help.

It came from Demmer Ford,Wayne, story is it went back to the bank.

Still trying to track down owners manuals and spare keys.

Also working on a build sheet as to what it is I actually own, dealer was very vague, and told me it was a Stage 3 (NOT) which is a Roush car.

Thanks in advance

Bob Schlund (AKA:WelderBob)

Thanks guys for the warm welcome.

Been reading as much as I can here.

So much to learn about the new technology of todays cars compaired to the old Boss 429 is so advanced .I'm getting a headache, trying to cram in as much as possible.

Is there a way to have the forum send a link to my e-mail when a new post is added to my thread?

Thank You

Welder Bob

Welcome to the TS form and I would have loved to have seen the Boss "9". What a cool car and not all that common compared to the 302. Almost everything you need to know about Shelby Mustangs can be found here. The group of guys here are very knowledgable and helpful. Again, welcome to the "fold" and enjoy your car, they are a blast. Now if the winter will ever end.....

Welcome to Team Shelby! I'm also from the downriver area - Romulus. Demmer Ford is the place to go to get any work done on your GT500, ask for Houston and tell him Jesse sent you - he'll do whatever he can to give you the best experience possible.

There are a bunch of great guys in the PDC, I was able to get a tour a couple years ago from Kevin Markham. Always something cool in the bays being worked on!

Bob,

Welcome to Team Shelby and congrats on your 2011 SVTPP. I had one recently and they're an awesome Shelby!

Enter your VIN on this link and you'll get a view of the original window sticker: http://www.researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/Ford.html

PS: Congrats too on your retirement and thanks for your welding career building prototypes of these great cars we get to drive!

I have a 2012 Shelby GT500 with 7000 miles that I just bought. I have some oil residue all over the passenger side of my car. I only noticed this after I ran the car fast enough to hear the supercharger. Is this something that could be leaking from the car or maybe something I just ran over? And ideas?
