I could make this also but would have to pick them up as pass Scotts Valley. I am guessing around 11:30? What is the name of the "burger" place on Mission they will be going to? Also I may be able to get some other Shelbys to come from my local contacts in the Monterey/Marina/ Watsonville area.

My ride began at the North Bay Starting Point in Petaluma. The Sonoma County Mustang Club brought 3 GT500’s and two Boss 302’s to the cruise. It is a bit early in the morning and my flash is not strong enough to capture all of the cars. Notice the sun is just coming up on the right side of the photograph. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s639/kestral200sci/ConcordtoSantaCruzCruise1482asSmartObject-1_zps0aa2f905.jpg

We traveled to Sunvalley Mall in Concord and met up with more really cool and fast Mustangs such as a GT500, Terminator Mustang, GT Mustangs with cams and blowers. We all know what kind of cars I’m talking about here. After checking out everyone’s ride we departed and headed for Los Gatos where we met with members of Team Shelby. I was at the end of the line when we departed and didn’t make the light. But it was really cool seeing about 17 outstanding mustangs loop around and get on the freeway. It sounded like I was at a NASCAR race. When we arrived at the Burger restaurant, we filled the parking lot with Mustangs. http://i1309.photobucket.com/albums/s639/kestral200sci/ConcordtoSantaCruzCruise1488asSmartObject-1_zpsc1858968.jpg

And we even almost took over the employee parking in the back.

Brad with Team Shelby came up with a great idea and we headed in mass down to the beach at Santa Cruz. We drove on the Warf went by the boardwalk and the beaches. While we were driving on the Warf, someone with a Camaro asked me if he could join our line. I told him sure and he hung out for miles and miles. While we were traveling along the coast we passed a parked Shelby GT. She jumped in her car and joined our line and followed us to the gas station where she was able to meet us and find out what was up. The cruise pretty much ended here as some people went home via different routes or enjoyed the attractions on the Boardwalk. I went north with two other GT500’s on the coast highway 1. The weather was great and the waves were setting up fine, a really beautiful ride. We had to head inland prior to getting to Half Moon Bay as traffic would be backed up for miles due to the surfing activity. Dave with Sonoma County Mustang Club suggested that we take 84 to 280 to miss all the traffic. HWY 84 is a nice winding road that Team Shelby has been on at least twice last year. Once we drove through San Francisco and over the Golden Gate Bridge, the three of us made an unplanned stop at the Marin Brewing company for pizza and burgers.

I had a great time. Well, until Brad made me go N on 1 when I was trying to hit 152... I thought we were friends Brad!

Sorry Andy you didnt tell me that you were going to go home on 152 which would have been better for getting back to Morgan Hill I guess, I didnt think about that. I just didnt want you to get stuck going south when I thought you needed to go north! Glad to see you but next time DONT LISTEN TO ME!! Are we still friends?haha Brad

Mike, sorry there was no place to park on the wharf or along West Cliff or East Cliff Drives but I mentioned that might be a problem with the nice day and on a Sunday afternoon around lunch time. I was surprised that we all got in the parking lot for lunch!! Next time if it was a little earlier in the day for the "cruise" part and then go for lunch might work out better for parking on wharf for pics or at some of the other places but it was a great day! Have fun at the Bash at watch out for Cali KR he likes to "drive" that KR!!haha. Brad

I just chalked it up to a Senior Moment by Santa! I went one exit up and turned around. The new suspension worked incredibly well over 152/Uvas Rd.

Your friend, L.A.B.

Your idea of traveling to the beach, Warf and boardwalk was really fun. I got a big laugh out of the guy in the cameo ridding with us. I think it extended the cruise in a good, fun way. Thank you for suggesting it.

Until next time,

Mike
