The brushed look is my personal favorite. i agree. if you look at the styling differences between the Mustang GT and the Shelby GT500, you will notice that the original Ford designers only used a chrome-like trim and wheel finish on the GT and a brushed/satin-like trim and wheel finish on the GT500. one of my biggest complaints about my former Mustang GT was the chrome-like interior trim that reflected so much light it often blinded me in sunny conditions - not exactly good for serious driving. while the chrome has extra "bling" and shine appeal, the brushed look means business.
