Shelby73
Hi just got 2013 gt500 recaro seats and looking to install in a 2009 gt500 read there may be a compadibility issue with the plugs for 2009. Is there a way to install without having to take the seats apart ie adapter plugs? Thanks for all the help. Mark
Shelby73
I just installed the seats and ended up taking the passenger seat apartIII was able to install, had to take the passenger seat apart and swap seat bladders so I took the drivers seat apart and made the Recaro seat powered. Turned out great
jthornton777
Where did you get the seats? I have been looking for a pair for my 07 gt500.

Shelby73
I actually got the seats off a member in the svtperformance forum. He bought them for his terminator mustang and never installed. They were brand new never used. Were he got them I have no idea, however he sold them to me for allot less than the ford racing recaros. I got lucky Edited June 19, 2013 by Shelby73

doogie65
Those look sweet! Were you able to get the seat airbags hooked up and working?
Shelby73
Yes I was, I ended up taking apart the passenger seat and swapping the airbag bladder and mech. Since I had that seat apart, I took apart the drivers seat and swapped bases so to speak, so I was able to keep the power seat functions. Wallah, I now have power Recaro seats. Works perfectly no lights on dash and all air-bags and safety is functional and in place.

Shelby73
My 2009 seats were power but not heated, however I could have put an aftermarket kit in with little to no problem If desired. Even though car is a daily driver, I hardly ever use the heated seats in my last car so that's why I probably didn't think of putting that in. SSSNAKE
Oh right, I forgot yours was an '09. Come to think of it I don't drive mine when it's cold enough to want heated seats anyway, lol. So the Recaro's are sitting at the proper height and look "factory"?
edgoods
I saw them at the Mustang stampede on Sat. They look good!!!!! Nice Job. I never got your name ,but it was nice meeting you and your better half. Ed
Shelby73
Thanks Ed, it was nice meeting you as well. My wife says hi as we'll. To answer the question yes they look stock except for the bottom side, it looks stock for the power seats. LOL they are cool actually, and since Recaros don't come that way most people looking at them think stock all the way. I'm a shorter guy so I love that I can raise the seat in all kinds of directions. With the rear seat delete powder coated white and the white stripes in the Recaros, looks like something that could have been ordered from ford for that year. Even though it was never offered. For me that's the cool factor. Mark
