Team Shelby Pacific Coast Region is pleased to announce the 2013 Shelby Run - March 20th + 21st, 2013

 

 

This year we will be returning to the Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage California. As we did in 2011, we will avoid the LA Basin congestion and start the 2013 Shelby Run from the Palm Springs area.

 

We will kick things off at the Agua Caliente - http://www.hotwatercasino.com/ - 1-888-999-1995 , Wednesday March 20th, 2013. The resort has agreed to a special $129.00 per night room rate, which includes waving of the required resort fee tax and a $10.00 casino free play voucher. The room booking code is "SHELBY RUN". We will have our own secured parking location in their parking structure. (auto detailing services will again be available).

 

NOTE - To take advantage of this rate, rooms have to be booked by February 20th, 2013 (the rate after this date is $330.00 + tax/fees per night)

 

2013 Shelby Bash registration will be available and we will distribute credentials and vehicle decals. (for those not attending the Shelby Run, registration will also be available at the South Point Resort in Las Vegas)

 

The details for the reception are still being finalized. Depending on the number of participants, the resort has agreed to opening their fantastic buffet (normally closed Wednesday night). The plan is to have a similar format to last year, with Shelby related vendors, a raffle and, of course, a no host open bar.

 

This year's Shelby Run route will feature a beautiful 300 mile cruise to Las Vegas thru the California desert, with less than 100 miles of interstate driving. The route will also feature a lunch stop on a section of historic US Route 66. (Lunch is included in the cost of attending the Bash)

 

The plan is to depart from the Agua Caliente on March 21st, 2013 at 8:00AM and arrive at the South Point by approximately 2:00PM.

This will be a great way to start the BASH, the hotel is a premium property, and the route is excellent

 

We need to know the numbers, so we can plan accordingly, so please chime in.

The cruise route would be I-10 to CA Rte-177 (Desert Center Rice Rd) to CA-62 east to US-95 north to Searchlight NV, then NV-164 (Nipton Rd) to I-15 North to Southpointe.

I am sooo in!! I missed this part of the run last year and met up with everybody for lunch in Barstow. Am looking forward to doing the whole thing!! See ya all soon :happy feet:
