Shelbyless... What Comes Next???

Well, for the first time in three and a half years, I'm without a GT500. I sold my 2011 SVTPP today and watched it go down our street for probably the last time. It's a weird feeling to have a gaping hole in the garage where the beast was always parked... The new owners are terrific folks. They are actively involved with NorCal SAAC, so I'm comforted to know my Shelby has a new caring family.

Now I face the decision of what to do next. I don't mind being without a "Powered by Ford" performance vehicle through the winter, but I'd like to know soon what to get and when I can expect to get it. Ideally, I would have a new vehicle by mid-April when the weather turns nice and the car season starts. Lots to think about as 2012 comes to a close. Any ideas or suggestions???

Missing something - if you want a Powered by Ford product and you had one, but sold it for the winter, and want another next April, why'd you sell this beauty?

Jim, I thought kyou had a 2014 on order? Something happen to that? Also does this mean no "Snakes at the Lake" next year or will you be there without a "snake"?

If you want Jim you can park my 2007 GT500 in your garage . It will help with the withdrawal symptoms and you can keep it clean for me until the new one arrives ! Let me know how I can help a brother . B)

I don't keep my cars for too long. Had my previous torch red Shelby for almost 18 months. For the past 24 months, this SVTPP was great, but now I'm looking for something else.

Brad,

I do have a 2014 ordered, but the dealer can't tell me (yet) when it will be produced. I'd really like to have something by April sometime. That's why I was seeking suggestions...

As far as "Snakes at the Lake" 2013 goes, we're on regardless of whether I have a Shelby, or not.

Pick up something used to kick around until the 2015 body style comes out. Then a brand new GT500!

SG,

I'm trying to keep an open mind about the 2015 Mustang, but the "concept" drawings I've seen so far don't impress me (yet). Although there are a few older vehicles that I might be interested in, the performance levels found in the new ones are hard to pass up...

Kevin,

The first 24 hours was tough, but a couple of holiday parties have helped. :hysterical:

If I'm still having withdrawals after the first of the year, I may have to consider your offer... :salute:

Why don't you get a nice classic one, 1965-69. At least it won't depreciate like a rock as the new ones do :happy feet:

I've already had a red 1966 Mustang GT before and I know I want something with more ponies under the hood. But thanks for the suggestion!
