Couple of recent encounters

It's been in the high 50's to mid 60's for the last week or two in KY and I feel for you guys who have to put your cars away for the winter. I can enjoy driving mine year round (common sense prevailing). It's been mid summer since I had anyone challenge me and had 2 this last week. The first is funny, both were satisfying. My drive to/from work can be either 80% 4 lane bypass or 80% 2 lane city streets, depending on which direction I turn coming out of the driveway. So, Friday afternoon I take the bypass home. The bypass has 4 traffic lights before I turn off for home. At light #1 a bright yellow Dodge Dakota R/T pulls along side the fender badge says "Magnum V8". I don't pay too much attention to him until his passenger shoots me the bird and they take off in a cloud of tire smoke. I ignore him, but when he does the same at #2, I jump on it and blow them away by the time I hit 3rd. At light #3, he does it again. This time we've got much more open road ahead of us so I pull along side, shake my head and then drive away. 4th redlight he's gunning it again, ready to run. When the light turned green, I sat still and watched him smoke tires across the intersection. He waited for me down the road but I just waved and drove on. Either stupid or persistent....I don't know.

There are several cars I see day to day coming and going from work. At least 3 times in the last couple of weeks a red Caddy CTSV and I have arrived at the same intersection at the same time. One day he gunned the engine and looked over and grinned. Another day I had the top down and I gunned the motor and grinned. Monday we met again. It had rained earlier in the day and we met, facing each other, both turning onto the 4 lane. He was turning left, I was turning right. He pointed at me and motioned to his left. Traffic cleared and we both pulled out. I turned hard right and took the driest lane, he swung out left and we hit it. It was fun, but I was able to keep the tires from spinning from the rolling start and all he got to see was my tail lights. We ran out of road pretty quick and I moved over to make a left hand turn at the next intersection (clearly ahead of him)--he gunned the engine and grinned and waved.

Next week the weather may actually be winter.......

Those Caddy's are nothing to fool with. I drove one @ Road Atlanta @ speed and they are not an old mans car. They may not be the fastest from 0 to 60 but those sons of bitchs fly around Road Atlanta. They are one hell of a car for a Caddy. Trust me .

You're right, I wasn't running away from him, but he wasn't catching up either! It was fun. I had a big grin on my face all the way home.......
