My wife and I did this last year and we were honored to represent Shelby during their 50th anniversary. It is a hoot! If you have time and are in the area (we drove up from western KY), it's a blast! I was astounded by the kids, children, small ones, wee ones, pre-teens and teens that screamed, "Look a Cobra!" and drug parents and hangers on into the booth. They all recognize the Shelby name and the coiled snake, if nothing else. It gives hope for a new generation of fans. It's also a hoot to lean over the engine bay with adult guys and gals while they "Ooooooh and Aaaaaah" over them. It is a hoot! (I've said that already, right?) The crowds were tremendous, the rest of the show is a candy store for gear heads, it was ALL good! We were treated like honored guests by the Shelby staff and the visitors acted like we were "something special" because we owned a similar car to the one they've just been slobbering over........ Would I do it again? YES! However, health and work issues won't allow us to go again this year. Parking is ok, food is ok, watching people is fantastic and showing off these beautiful machines is......well, priceless! It costs you virtually nothing if local. We went cheap on lodging (I can tell you where NOT to stay.) otherwise, parking and meals is all it costs. You get some really neat stuff and get to do what we all enjoy most, talking about Shelby cars.......

GO!

I would of really enjoyed helping out a few days, but I can't afford to miss classes with a new semester just beginning. I'll definitely stop by for a while when I'm at the show on MLK day.

OK, how about this one - dress code for working the booth? Its a car show so the women will all be in high heels and short skirts - right? What about us guys, or does it really matter since no one

It's FUN to see the reaction on people's faces when they see such amazing cars up close!

Have fun!!!!

Just call Gary or Sam's cell number once you arrive and they'll get you to the Will Call booth to get checked-in.

Worked the show last year and as others have noted it is a blast. Because I am local, it had special moments when friends and co-workers from 5+ years would show up. Detroit is a car town and we that work in the industry still have passion for seeing everything.

I am working Monday 1/21 - Thursday 1/24. Will also be catching up with the TS Great Lakes Directors coming in on Friday January 25. Suppose to be Directors meeting.

Should just break down and go today after watching local Channel 7 coverage of the Charity Event last night. Everything I could see seemed to have more room to get good looks. Building is half done on major renovation. Next year when complete should be wilder yet.

Worked the show today from 9AM to about 10PM with time off for lunch & dinner & had a blast! Best line heard - guy walked up to the front of a Super Snake with the hood up and said "so, does this thing run on gas?"

In Motor City, yet.
