mikejaeggi
Anyone have this car cover? seems nice but kind of expensive for a non-all weather cover. any oppinions or reccomendations would be appreciated, thanks. http://www.shelbystore.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=Z40%2D10&CartID=
txcobra
I've had one for my 07 that I no longer have anymore, but I loved it. Looks great on the car. It is an indoor cover only, great for keeping dust off of the car while parked in the garage. Extremely soft, good quality. I just don't know how it compares to other high end covers... bergenfelter
I have the CoverCraft FormFit cover - it is fantastic - soft fleece lining and fits the GT500 perfectly.

I assume you selected "Mustang GT" for model when you ordered it? curious, both covers say "indoor only". i'm not looking for a snow/rain proof cover, just something to use when it's in the garage and occasionally outdoors but in moderate weather. does it fight tight enough that it won't blow off outside? Ecrissman
I am about to pull he trigger on a formfit or dustop. I am leaning towards the dustop. From what I had read the formfit is a great cover but as dust settles on the stretched out fabric while its installed on the vehicle when you remove the cover the dust is then embedded within the fabric. Over time it allows the dust to filter through to the point it causes light scratches and marring. I think the form fit looks the coolest and can be color coordinated, but it doesnt seem to be the safest for the paint. The dustop seems to review extremely well and suits my use perfectly. Climate controlled garage kept just keep the dust off the paint kind of color. I apologize while using my DROID for whatever reason I couldn't load the link you had. Edit the link finally did open, thats a nice cover.. looks very much like a formfit. A very popular cover. Yes - I selected the MGT cover. The form fit cover would hold up under light wind - not much more - the duststop would not hold up at all in wind - I have one for my GTO. Which do you like better for indoor use only? Just to keep dust off and safest for not marring the paint.

mikejaeggi
i ended up getting the Shelby cover, super impressed. extremely soft outside, almost a silk-type feel. the inside is very soft cotton, like the inside of a sweatshirt. now I just need my car to arrive so I can use it. bergenfelter
Here is the FormFit by Covercraft - mine is a vert which is why you see the goofy roof lines.
SGT0128
Heres mine from SPP.
Ecrissman
Geez they both look so good, I had fabric samples sent from both manufactures. Seems covercraft is a thicker material.. but matching color and strips from SPP is SWEET, and I really want to support them! I will call and see if I can use the 10% off with membership. My wife (sensible financier) made me Craigslist and sell some stuff so I am good to go, tough choice.

I don't think you can go wrong with either route - I did not know about the Shelby stripe cover at the time I bought mine - I like it as well. RickW
I think I'll just park my car in my garage -- which is an expensive-enough car cover itself -- and be done with it.
1sgt
Think about it even in the garage you get dust on it and if the door is open even more dust >
Ecrissman
The garage gets dusty just like the indoors of your house. My car is parked in my shop behind my house. Heated and A/C, I change the hvac filters monthly and I still get some dust. Pretty much just a man cave we use for parties ...so no real work goes on there. I even vacuum the concrete and still get light dust. The cover to me is only to shield dust and keep smoke, and the mist from the hazer machine from getting on the paint. svt13
Question: Is the formfit by covercraft and outdoor cover as well?
Ecrissman
Question: Is the formfit by covercraft and outdoor cover as well? Formfit is by Covercraft and is an indoor cover only. The satin stretch by coverking sold by Shelby is comparable. Unfortunately I am not familiar enough to comment about any outdoor covers. I want to sell my car cover I got with the shelby for one that is softer on the inside because I don't use the cover since I am scared it will scratch the car. Ecrissman
That's exactly what I am doing. I am ordering the Satin Stretch from Shelby in the body and stripe color that match my car. I believe the Coverking and Covercraft are of the same quality (I had swatches sent from both manufactures).

But my garage is my "man cave," too. I just want to go out there on a moment's notice and admire my brand new GT500 without having to remove a car cover. I'll bring a six pack and polish the car and growl like Walt Kowalski, "Ain't she sweet." On the inevitable day when I realize the novelty has worn off, I'll probably order a car cover, but not one day sooner.

Ecrissman
Even though I got the "approval" to buy the cover, I'm having a hard time parting with the money. It's been setting in my cart for over a week.

jnf
It is a very nice cover. Have one for my 07. Was ordering one for the 13, but the wife told me to "hold on, Christmas is coming" So, I will see what she is up to soon enough. If not, I will be ordering right after the Holidays.
