Time to add to my Health Insurance

Recommended Posts

I went to the Skin Doctor on Tuesday. They frooze 13 items and cut off 3. One of the ones they cut off was a small raised bump that was a Pinkish Red color on my Inner Fore Arm. It was that color from day one and never changed color. it was about a Qaurter Inch in size. They said that they will call me next week if there is an issue or I would get a Letter if everything is ok. WELL..........I get a Call from them TODAY. That Pinkish Red Bump on my inner Fore Arm is Cancer and I have to go back in Wednesday for them to Cut more out and Freeze the rest. Does anyone know what I should expect?

I wish you all the best. I recently went through the same type I issues and had to do chemo on my face, not fun. As long as you catch it early it should be fine. Just don't let Grabber show you his pictures it will scare the crap out Of you.

What kind of skin cancer did they tell you it was?

Melanoma ?

or

Basil cell Carcinoma ?

Not sure I will get it in writing on Wednesday. She used a lot of Tech Terms that I didn't understand. All I know is that she said that I have to come in on Wednesday for them to cut more out and then Freeze under it because it is a "Insert Tech Terms here" and then she said "we will also freeze the spot they cut off my Shoulder, it's not the one we are worried about". The kicker is when she said that now that I have a history of Cancer, they want to see me every 6 Months instead every Year.

I know what you are going through. I have had two skin cancers removed in the last couple of years (basil cell carcinoma). The type of cancer is important. Basil cell is the least dangerous. Squamous cell or melanoma are of more concern. If they have verified it is cancer then they should be able to tell you what kind it is. You can find out a lot about each kind on the internet. I have been to many dermatologists in my life. I was surprised to hear they were freezing after cutting. None of my dermatologists mentioned freezing as a treatment for skin cancer.

They Froze 13 Spots and cut off 3 this past Wednesday and said that if the Labs find any of the three to be Cancer I should get a Call early next week. I was shocked to get a Call just 2 Days later. The Freezing stings a bit when they do it but an hour later it starts itching but you cant touch it. You have to keep vasaline on the areas for a few days.

my dad had a large basil cell spot on the side of his forehead a couple of years ago. they removed it and he's been fine ever since, but still has to go to the dermatologist every 6 months like you will.

best of luck man, keep your chin up!
