Color Combo Selection

When I search for 2013 GT500s cars in stock on the net I notice a large proportion of Black W/ White Stripe. This is the color of my car. Yet on this forum I seem to notice a large proportion of blue or red cars. Who else is buying all these black w/ white stripe cars? Is there anybody else on this forum with this color combo? I have just never seen it mentioned. I think how wonderful the pictures of most color combinations on this forum look and am hoping that my black /w white will also look bad a$$. Am I crazy for picking this color combo?

How can anybody answer something so subjective? I mean, people actually bought the Pontiac Aztek and even Snooki managed to get herself knocked-up. As long as you like your car, nothing else matters. If you're going to worry about what anybody else thinks, you're not likely to ever enjoy what you have.

That said, there's DEFINITELY a difference in the color trends buyers order for themselves and what dealers are generally willing to order for their inventories. Black is, far and away, the most common color, but not necessarily the most "popular". It's what a lot of dealers decided to stock because it's what they believed to be the easiest to sell quickly and for the most profit. Other dealers take a different tack. Some go for the relatively rare colors knowing their car will be the among the few to appear in search results or among dealer locator searches.

As far as White on Black goes, less than 1 in 30 cars have been made made that way of 31 color and stripe combinations. Of them, about 1/3 were retail orders for customers. Black on Black is by far the most popular with more than 1 in 6 made that way. It's also important to remember that any snapshot of availability can be distorted by any number of reasons. For example, many secondary "no contact" dealers are only now just getting their first (and only) allocations fulfilled.

Addendum:

Only 2 White on Black coupes have been made for MI, both identically configured with everything but a glass roof and for customers who ordered them specifically. Coincidentally, because they also happened to be ordered and scheduled very close to each other, their VIN's are only 2 digits apart. 901 & 903.

Well I know I like the color combo. I think the black says, "That's right, I'm a bad a$$" but the car blends in. The white stripe says a little bit of, "Hey look at me!" I just thought that there were a ton of them out there from the searches I did. But it makes sense that the dealers ordered them as "stock" cars and are waiting to sell them. Thanks for the input.

You wouldn't happen to know where the other one went would you? Mine is going to Russ Milne Ford in Clinton Township. My VIN is the 903.

Then don't blow it. BE bad a$$, tell anybody who turns-up his nose to go pound sand and you can then go back to blending in at your liesure. :)
