Shebly Museum Trip

Finally made it to the museum & tour earlier this week. The tour was definitely worth it. We had arrived well before the tour started and so had ample time to look around at everything even before the tour started. When the tour did start we found out that we would be spending even more time in the main museum part and not the shop which is what I was looking forward to. So I was a bit disappointed at first.

But, the tour was absolutely awesome! Excellent stories behind the vehicles on display. Boy was I wrong about spending more time in the main part of the museum! Overall this was one of the best car experiences I've ever had and won't soon forget a great trip to the Shelby Museum!

We went there before we left LV for Death Valley on our road trip and I am glad that we did. It was my wifes suggestion to go and it was very informative and enjoyable.

Unfortunately there are very few for sale back here in the UK, but I am going to have fun looking!

My most memorable moment on the tour was when they asked "who owns a Shelby?" A lot of people raised their hand and stated their particular vehicle. One gentleman said "I own CSX..blah blah blah." I don't remember the number but it must have been expensive because the tour guide had someone come and get the gentleman and take him on his very own private tour. I recall one of the Shelby employees saying to another "that's the guy who bought CSX_ _ _ _" I wish I was recording the tour.

I'm guessing it was one of the original CSX2000 or CSX3000 cars. That is way cool. I know a couple of "original" owners, and one "one owner CSX2000 car" (but he inherited it) with a 260. Those are really cool.

I've taken the Shelby tour so many times I can't count.......and everytime it's a blast. :happy feet: My all time favorite is when CSX7076 was being built and up front in the tour.

I know who Dan is. What did you do to him. And who is the hippie you got to pose in this picture?

When I was there for the tour, it was my son's Birthday. I too remember when they asked - who own's a Shelby - I raised my hand and my son had such a smile on his face. The gentleman next to me wanted to know - how does it feel to own a Shelby ( he was an Asssie) - My son's answer - It feels FAST! Now that was Priceless!!!

When we were there, we had been to a nephews wedding at Lake Tahoo so after the wedding we made it to Vegas. When asked who had a Shelby, my wife and I both raised our hands. Jeremy our tour guide ask if we were together and said yes and said she has one and I have one. Mine is a 2008 GT 500 and hers is a 2007 GTH and its just outside the door. Needless to say people wanted to know how it was to have two Shelbys. It was hard to give an answer that would do justice just to have one in a lifetime. Now our plan is getting started on our third, A 2012 GT500 Super Snake Anniversary, soon to be shipped to Vegas.
