Banditone1
Just curious because now that the years go by and of course the passing of Mr. Shelby, how much longer will the gt/sc package be available? I think it is an understood fact that there were not many sgts produced and even less will go for the package. I want to do it but i have to wait till the finances are in order. It seems like all the gt500s are still front page news and the sgt is fading from existence. I can supercharge it myself for 7k but i want the shelby heritage and the name. Any and all comments or info would be appreciated.

clark17357
What you said is why I had mine done at Las Vegas. As the days go by, it seems to be a better and better decision. Jim
07SGT
I agree it is a good investment to have the GT/SC and the Shelby heritage for the future. From the Shelby standpoint they should continue to offer indefinitely as they will make money on every installation. SAI realizes no profit if they discontinue the installation. It would be good for the few that have the GT/SC package but SAI is in business to make money, not collectibles from which they do not profit. Rev Dennis
Many many GT500s. Not as many SGTs. Only a few GT/SCs. Expensive, but worth it.
twobjshelbys
Many many GT500s. Not as many SGTs. Only a few GT/SCs. Expensive, but worth it. I would not buy a GT/SC upgrade because of its rarity. Do the upgrade because you want a really fun car to drive. Honestly, this "one of one (or n)" thing really doesn't matter. I think this was invented by Kevin Marti (of the Marti Report).

SGT0767
I spoke with SAI this Summer about having the upgrade done next Fall for our anniversary. While that is not a guarantee that the GT/SC will actually be available then, it does appear that there are no immediate plans to discontinue the option. We have discussed doing the upgrade for a couple of years but, with the Stage 2 upgrade to the GT500 and the installation of the KR mufflers, we find that we are driving the KR and GT500 more than the GT. With the SC upgrade, I think we will find the GT as much of a match for the others so it should get driven a little more. B)
Doug_GT350
Keep in mind if you go with the GTS package and get the supercharger it too is striped as a GT/SC.
EL SHELBY
Keep in mind if you go with the GTS package and get the supercharger it too is striped as a GT/SC. No, it isn't.
Doug_GT350
No, it isn't. according to the brochure under options it clearly states GT/SC stripe.... http://www.shelbyame...s/pdf/gtsv8.pdf
EL SHELBY
Then Shelby America forgot it this on lbj's GTS. I'll assume the brochure is wrong.
EL SHELBY
If one assumes that average SGT owner purchased their Shelby New on a 5yr note then it would be a bad idea for SA to discontinue the SC package because there should be a influx of individuals this year and next with additional monies available to invest in a GT/SC. RogerS
Just for clarity there is no S/C stripe on a GTS equiped with a Supercharger. Roger
