07SGT5687
So I'm probably going to take a stab at installing my newly arrived Shelby Watts Link tomorrow. HOWEVER, as I was asking a buddy about it today, he had some poor things to say about the Fays2 style Watts Link on already lowered cars. Regardless, he did say also that it;s infinitely adjustable and can take several weeks to get all the settings dialed in. Long story short, I'm going to Hastings next weekend and I REALLY want to have this installed and setup by then. Does anyone here have an SGT with an aftermarket watts link and can you tell me what the specific settings are?
Halsey
Infinitely adjustable as far as installation geometry of the mounting post to axle tube and adjustment of arms for correct installation. Once properly installed (aligned), the only adjustment is roll center. If you have the new low profile unit there are only 3 positions for roll center. With the 1 1/2" drop of the SGT you will most likely end up in the top position. Start in the third position (bottom) and drive the car through your favorite corner taking note of the amount of under-steer, then move it up (reducing under-steer by virtue of roll steer) until you like the feel. After that, unless you make a significant tire change or damper adjustment, you may never change it again. Of coarse you can find all this at http://fays2.net/fays2_watts_link_22_.html. When you install and setup the watts links the vehicle must be level and supported on all four tires, period. Good luck with the install, you won't be disappointed. 07SGT5687
Hey thanks for all the info. My biggest take away from this was that it's has to be loaded during install. Not possible in my garage so unfortunately this will have to wait until after Hastings, NE this coming weekend. But thanks again for all the valuable info on the WL settings.
