07-09 vs. 10-13 / GT500 / Engine height in chassis

Does anyone know why the engine sits higher, relative to the strut towers in the latest Shelbys (10-13) vs. in the first models (07-09)?

Is it the engine that is higher or the towers which are lower or shorter?

Is there a difference in the engine mounts sizes? In the K-members tabs locations or overall dimensions?


If the engine is lowered by installing shorter engine mounts (like 3/4" shorter ones):

What about the trans mount? The output shaft angle vs. the nose of the driveshaft?

What about the oil pan vs. the K member?


Any comments or experience?
