Thoughts on how many 2013's will be made?

Just wondering if anyone had any educated guess on how many '13's will be made........under 5000? Or is it going to be more like the '07 where it was if memory serves me about 11,000?

07 economy was booming - people had excess cash to spend on toys - different than today - my guess would be less than 5000

Thanks guys and Farmboy for the figures. I bought a 2007 and loved the car,but I was little disappointed how many ended up being made....not very exculsive.

I picked up a 2013 very recently and was curious on how many would be produced.........and by the way WOW what a car the '13 is

Thanks again Farmboy for those precise figures........and both you and svtkeith on the kudos for my car, thanks guys. These 2013's are truly impressive

Revenge- you missed my point by confusing performance with production numbers.......I understand there will be a 2014 and beyond and who knows most likely increased performance but that won't affect the number of '13's being made. The 13's will be what they are- the last GT 500 that Carroll Shelby was involved with

I personally don't think the '14's will be that different than the '13's and if the 2015 is awesome and appeals to me I'll get one. I've been a fan of high performance Mustangs forever and have owned lots of them and still do....... they are all cool in their own right, each one with its own individual level of performance. LOL if 662hp ain't enough for me I'm sure there is a few simple mod's that could be made

Well said bud...I think the 14's are going to be just a continuation of the 13's with maybe some color changes.

Thanx for the clairvoyant incite! :salute:

The 2014 will be the same as the 2013. Ford's deal with shelby and use of the name ends in 2016. 2015 is a new platform for the mustang and history shows they dont roll out specialty models until a year or two after. ADM's is the reason you have these sitting on lots now, and Im not concerned about collectibility and future value

So what if its the last GT500 Shelby was involved with? In the 80s some people over paid for the last Ferrari's Enzo was involved with. Now where are those cars compared to the latest and greatest Ferraris? My point is no one is going to distinction between the 2013 and 2014 GT500 unless the 2014 is tweaked to become a noticeably better car. When the next generation GT500s roll out they will be even more amazing than the 2013.Even if they make only 4k 2013 models and 4k 2014 models that is still 8k GT500s. No way near low enough production numbers for anyone to even think about collectability. The people who own the 2013 will be in the same boat as the 07-09 owners eventually where the latest generation of GT500s relegates their cars to second best or worst.

This depends if the new generation is ugly as hell. I couldn't care less if it had bugatti performance if it was ugly as hell.

Has anyone figured out the daily average rate of production for these cars?

According to Farmboy90, 2238 have been produced as of Sept 08, 2012.

How many production days did it take to produce that quantity? Remember to factor in all holidays and other non production days.

How many production days are left until the end of production? Remember to factor in all holidays and other non production days.

Not according to the dealers I've been talking to! "Since ole Shel's passing, we sell everyone we get for 10k over. The owner insisted we get 15k over; but, I convinced him not be greedy" I kid you not, that's what I was quoted by one Florida dealer.

Thanks, so the daily average was 28.33 GT 500's a day. If they maintain that average, all we need is the number of productions days left and we should be able to get a fairly accurate total production number. Assuming no major parts shortages or labor problems.

Just found out today that the Flat Rock plant will be closed for 3 weeks in November for retooling. Add this to the normal 2 weeks vacation time in December, and it doesn't look good for the GT500 production numbers.

From the article below.

Much of the retooling will be done during a three-week shutdown in November.

As it gears up for the future, Ford to add 1,200 workers in Flat Rock
