Condition of Billet LCAs

Recommended Posts

Like many, I try to be as brand-loyal as possible whenever customizing and/or adding performance modifications to my GT500.

Even when other vendors offer comparable products MUCH less expensively and despite the VERY few products Shelby actually makes itself versus what It sources from actual manufacturers and rebrands as its own by stamping, etching and screening the Shelby name and logo upon them, I buy Shelby (and then Ford Racing) components whenever possible.

That's why certain things like what's been happening to me are even more frustrating than they'd otherwise be - especially when they should be so absolutely avoidable.

I'm now ordering my third set of billet LCAs ($330-plus with shipping by the way), after the first two sets arrived with all sorts of gouges, nicks and scrapes upon them.

They seem to have been well packaged in soft styro-wrap inside their shipping boxes. I don't know how the damage could've happened while en route to me and how it couldn't have been noticed at any inspection point during the supply chain, especially during the very last step when being picked and packed for final shipment

It's now causing me to reschedule their installation (along with upgrading virtually the entire rear suspension) for a second time.

Had anybody else had a similar experience with the Billet LCAs or any other item? It's maddening as hell. I suppose I could just-as-simply powdercoat them, but that's not what I'd prefer to do (or should need to do) for a particular product whose styling is meant to make them so appealing.

Am I alone in my experiences and just two times unlucky?.

You are the type of person that we needed!! Being an owner of a business I am aware of the importance of what means "Customer Service" and having the customer satisfied. My father once told me: Give the product free and sell the service. You are doing that. Congratulations!!

I appreciate Jer’s direct response and am looking forward to resolving the matter once and for all, especially being into it some $650 deep at this point and having had to reschedule the work twice already. I’m encouraged to know the replacements at least will leave S/A in the condition they should.

Even so, weeding through shelves of inventory for individual pieces of stock must be one hell of a way for a divisional head to spend his time. Unless Shelby happens to sell very few, either I’m especially unlucky, others have said nothing or they’ve just been swapped-out in silence.

I’d hate to think there’d been any ongoing broader QC issue with this or any other product, vendor or internal handling and nobody bothered to raise a hand. If so, hopefully it’s something Jer’s leadership will help to change.

6 total like 3 on each side?

The new ones are suppose to have 5 holes on each side like this http://www.revanraci...-2005-2011.html

The ones are these http://www.shelbysto...s5ma-3000-a.htm

Sorry. I was talking about the Lower Control Arms and not for the relocation brackets.......

Well,

I got to the bottom of it - These were not shipped from SA, they are a drop-ship item directly from BMR, so I was not able to hand-check your replacements. We were careful to instruct BMR to rigorously QC check before shipping. They should leave today, I've paid for Overnight Shipping to ENSURE you receive them by the weekend. I'll PM or email you a tracking number ASAP.

Looking forward to pix of them on your car! Let me know when you receive them.

Again, sorry for the issue. Whether we OR our vendor make a mistake, Shelby will own it and make it right.

Hey Jer the relocation brackets you guys sell for the LCA are they the old BMR mounts like the picture shows with 2 holes or have you upgraded to the new 3 hole mounts and just haven't updated the pictures? Thanks.

They will be BMR's latest.

Thank you. I really look forward to receiving them.

Drop shipping from suppliers can be great, except when they sandbag you'll by failing to QC what they ship under the auspices of the Shelby brand.

Given that I got dinged twice, I wonder how much of their own branded components are sent with similar inattention. Unfortunate all 'round - u less I was exceptionally unlucky twice.

Unfortunately, it's tough to ensure even the best third parties will protect your brand as well as they should or like their own. And given the considerable time between occurrences, it doesn't smack of a one-time "bad lot" kind of situation.

I'll keep you apprised of the replacements' arrival and the damaged sets' return.

Many thanks!

Bill,

I've emailed and sent you a PM with the tracking number.
