First post......what do you love/hate?

Any other SN95 5.0 owners here? If so, what do you love about your car? What irks you? Here's my $.02

I bought my car brand new, with the intention of turning it into a street/strip car. 6 combinations later, my 302 is history, and a 357W roller awaits install. With 33,000 on the clock, most of the use my car has seen has been floggings at our local track, Norwalk Raceway Park. While I love the look of the car, I feel Ford should have gone with vertical taillights right off the bat, not as a 96-98 exterior change. I feel they could have probably done better with the wing as well. Other than that, it's great, exterior wise.

The paint job leaves alot to be desired. My car is stored winters, and is rarely driven even on seasonable days. However, after a year of ownership, I literally had paint chipping off the roof and around the license plate area. Having worked in a Ford assembly plant, I realize there's a degree of quality control when it comes to these things. I can't help but think maybe this process was a bit lax 10 years ago.

Finally, the processor is a joke. Ford should have carried over the A3M/A9P/A9L EEC processors. Rumor has it Ford went with the J4J1/T4M0 computers to integrate a timing retard to keep people from breaking their T5s (yeah, like THAT helped). these processors are VERY touchy, and oft ill-acting when you add things like mild cams, or anything else that might change your air flow.

I ordered a 94GT as soon as I could talk a dealer into taking my money. I loved that car as much as any, however it had a few serious issues. The airbag computer/some sensors went back to Ford twice for troubleshooting, the ABS quit once, and very anoyingly, I had the front swaybar endlinks replaced under warrenty 5 TIMES! Still I thought then and now that for the money it was a pretty good GT/sporty car and after a few suspension mods.; a good highway car(375 miles a week/ about 600k). I still strongly disagree with the horizontal tailghts that were changed thankfully in 96. Still having replaced it, I don't really miss it.

Michelle, does your car have a sort of plastic duct cover inside the rear forward wheel-well? I recall thinking it was going to be for brake cooling but I can't be sure. Thanks.

Mine has it, as does my husband's (which is an earlier 95)........I think it's pretty much useless.
