mlane73
Would somebody be willing to post (or email me) their KR Certificate of Authenticity along with The Select Dealer letter fro Ford noting the inclusion of the Certificate of Authenticity. Thx mlane
oldlugs
Not sure what you're asking. Do you just want to know what they looked like? If I'm not mistaken, I think they only went to dealers still sitting on unsold '09 KRs, but the '08s may have gotten them too. Anyone know? YZD263
I also believe that they were only available in 2009, and only in the US. I tried to get one from Ford shortly after I bought my '09 last fall. In an email exchange, the SVT rep that replied to me first acted as if authenticity certificates for the KR could only be issued by Shelby since the cars were completed at SAI. When I emailed then a pictue of an SVT issued KR certificate that I had found on the web and asked if this was issued by SVT, he suddenly went silent and stopped answering my emails. shelbymotorsports
Correct. In August of 2009 Ford Marketing sent a GT500KR Authenticity Certificate to every dealer that had an unsold KR sitting on their lot. If your KR was sold/purchased before this date you did not receive a certificate with your KR. This was a one time deal by Ford Marketing to help the dealer move unsold KR's. We here at Shelby American have received dozens of inquiries from KR owners looking for these certificates but because they were produced by Ford Marketing and not SAI we can be of no assistance. So far Ford has declined to reprint any of these certificates although many have tried, I'm unaware of anyone being successful in obtaining a replacement from Ford. Now if you are the original owner of a KR and you purchased your KR after August 2009 and did not recieve this KR certificate, I would suggest contacting your selling dealer to see if by chance they have your certificate in a file cabinet somewhere. Again you would have had to have purchased your KR new after August 2009 for there to be a chance the dealer just forgot to turn over the certificate. Hope this helps. mlane73
OK Thanks guys. My 08 #627 was just delivered to my house and Im trying to figure out if any paper work is missing. I searched the site and found a listing of what the original buyers received and I thought I was missing three things- which in actual fact (after reading the above responses) may have never come with the car to begin with- correct? 1-KR Certificate of Authenticity 2-Select Dealer Letter from Ford Marketing noting the inclusion of the Certificate of Authenticity 3-Zmax pamphlet Thx mlane
Dennis Brown
I had a 08 KR and I got the Certificate of Authenticity from Ford. The Zmax pamphlet should have came with the car when it was new. The only thing I could not get was the selcet dealer letter becasue it was a 08. 08KR525
What I don't understand is why Ford, specifically SVT, doesn't want to offer COAs for the KRs especially since they offer them for sale for everything else they ever offered. The last time I inquired about them offering these I was meant with almost a disgust that I had actually purchased a KR and this was there flagship Mustang in '08 and'09! FiaCobra
Sorry I'm late to the party. I have that certificate for my '09 as well. I think Gary [shelbypt] got one for his '08 as well. As far as the dealer letter, I may also have that. I'll have to take a look later.
mlane73
Were you able to find the dealer letter that is discussed above? Thx mlane
shelbypt
The letter and certificate came in the same shipping envelope from Ford, but they were only offered for a short period of time. I think I saw the Zmax pamphlet when it was new, but I can't find it. I may have t, th, thr, thro, throw, thrown it away :-(
