I should have my Shelby GT shipped here by next weekend the 3rd or 4th of Aug. Been waiting for 6 weeks to get it here so the end id near. Found a great car with auto trans and only 5,500 miles, mint condition and signed and dated by Carroll himself. I intend to be an active member in Team Shelby once I actually begin driving and showing it at North Georgia area Drive Ins and meets. Looking for others in the area and if there is a local club, of sorts, then I am interested in getting involved with that. I'll post a new thread when I get the car here to Woodstock. Looking forward to knowing what it means to own a Shelby GT. I'm also looking at buying an embroidery business so doing logo'd apparel would be a snap!

Until I take delivery from Montway Auto Transport....

Welcome to TS!!

I'm in the Atlanta Area - my office is actually in Woodstock on Hwy 92, and every now and then, I'll drive my 08 SGT Conv to the office (I usually park in back), so be sure to say hello if you see me! I'm the State Farm Agent on Hwy 92 just to the East of Hwy 5.

I have seen a couple of others in the Woodstock area - another white 07 owned by a 20-ish year old who works near the Super Target on Hwy 92 & 575 (I spoke with him one day) and a few others I see commuting back and forth - One white 07 that a female drives towards Alpharetta each morning that I pass on my morning commute out to Woodstock, and a black 07 that a man drives who either frequents or works at the large bank building near Hwy 5 and Hwy 92 (used to be the Creekside Bank office before it went under).

Once it arrives, PM me if you ever want to meet up and maybe get together with some other area SGT owners...there are enough of us in Atlanta to pull together for some morning coffee or something. Every first Sunday of each month is Caffine & Octane car show in Alpharetta that I have been to twice - great time to see about 300 to 500 different cars, and met another 08 SGT owner there too.

Good luck with the new purchase and hope it arrives safe and sound!!

Andy.

Welcome, fellow AT SGT! I get comments at cruise nights and car show like "Too bad it's an automatic" but I don't let that bother me. I'm driving an autographed Shelby and they're not. :hysterical:

We are a great big family here. If you need any help or advice, this is the place. Odds are, whatever your question, it has been covered here. Just don't get sucked in to which SGT is faster, black :yup: or white :nonono: We all know that answer. :stripot:

I searched for an automatic and got lucky to find one available with so few miles and in pristine condition. Can't wait to get in the first time, start it and "lose my virginity" so to speak...

For what its worth....the night that my Dad drove me up to pick up my SGT, he sat down in the front passenger seat next to me with an ear to ear grin on his face. Then he looked over at me and said, "Too bad....the only thing wrong with this car, son, is that it is NOT an Automatic Transmission." :)

I told him, that's OK....I'll just have to deal with it!!!

Congratulations!!!!

First of all, for buying a GREAT car.

Secondly, for finding and logging onto THIS website. You've discovered the BEST SOURCE of info and camaraderie a Shelby owner could hope for. I can honestly say that the people here have made my ownership experience 1000 times more fun and informative. Look around, dig deep, there are YEARS of posts about these awesome cars. You've struck GOLD!

Have fun!!!
