kidpa
Need some help please. I'm considering on selling my 08 gt/cs automatic convertible and looking for a vista blue Shelby GT convertible and I need a automatic because after my wife's foot surgery she can't shift. So my question is how many where made and what years? Did they make any other color in a automatic convertible? After looking for a couple of weeks it doesn't seem that there are a lot out there,Thanks for your help. Ron
Wayne Grey
Ron, The Vista Blue was the 08 entry. They only made 184 automatics in the Vista Blue convertibles and 11 automatics in the Black w/ Red stripes Barrett-Jackson convertibles. Total automatic convertibles for the 2008 Shelby GT is 195. They are out there but you may have to look awhile. They are great ! We love ours, but then again all Shelbys are loved. Good luck in your search. kidpa
Thanks Wayne,I didn't think the number of automatic was that low so I guess It could take a while, which creates the problem of selling mine now or waiting till I fine one. If I get lucky and a dealer has one I could trade. One thing I haven't seen is the price on the Shelby upgrade package does anyone have this number? Looking online the only ones I have found where manual and it looks like there are from 27k to 33k depending on miles are these good numbers? Wayne Grey
Ron, I'm sorry but I don't know how to send a link - James Ford Inc. in Half Moon Bay, Ca has an 08 Shelby GT with an automatic. It has 30,500 miles on it and the price is listed at $28,999. It's a ways away for you but it's the only one I found for sale now.
kidpa
I saw that one too, it is about 1400.00 to ship it here and if I'm correct they are gt500 rims on that one, not sure how much it would be to get the original rims for it. Glenn Greenwell
I wouldn't rule out a low mileage Hertz GT-H convertible that was well cared for. If you don't get in a hurry something will pop up. GG
Macomb Mi 08 SGT
I've got a coupe, 08SGT0618, for sale. Auto, only 148 built. 8200 miles, never seen rain or snow. Don

AndyGJ
I saw that one too, it is about 1400.00 to ship it here and if I'm correct they are gt500 rims on that one, not sure how much it would be to get the original rims for it. Thanks Ron Orginal set of rims in good shape would run $500 to $800 depending on condition of tires and rims. I have a set on my 08 SGT convertible that I was thinking about selling to upgrade to wider CS rims at some point. Rims are excellent shape, but tires have 17,000 miles on them...probably in the $600-700 range would be my guess. Andy.
mach 1 1970
Here is my take on the 06 Hertz Shelby after owning one and looking @ many for sale.. You will never find the ones that were not rented, these are super rare. Even the low miles one's with 13K miles were rented out for 6 months or more. These are the best condition ones and still have faded stripes, small dings and spider marks in the paint. There is no subsitute for a one owner car that is garage kept like a SGT. Believe me those Hertz cars sat out in the sun and rain @ airport terminals and were beat on alot by renters. There is no perfect original Hertz car out there . Buyer Beware !!! kidpa
I found one on eBay today located in stafford Texas at Texas direct auto, I didn't want to hesitate so I put down a deposit. So my question does anyone know if that's a good place to deal with? The number on the car is 08sgt0953 does anyone know anything about this one? I have to ship this one home but if anyone knows anything about the car or dealer I would rather lose 500.00 then get a bad deal. Car has 32,000 miles on it and it was priced at 27k? Orion
While watching Barrett-Jackson on Speed TV I heard Matt Stone say he had a 2008 Vista Blue Shelby GT vert, but I would think he'd have a 5 speed stick.
Orion
^ and I just confirmed my suspicion when I saw him talking about his SGT on Youtube: And, like most of them, it's been modded.
Wayne Grey
It's a shame that Adam talked to this guy - he really doesn't know much about his car (ie: 325 HP?, White, Black and ah ah Vista Blue - what about the Barrett Jackson and Grabber editions?) and could have represented the Shelby GT a whole lot better (Couldn't say that the Shelby GT is a Pre Title Car verses the Post Titled 500s). Oh Well - life goes on. Just MO from a NJ Know It All :burnout:
Rev Dennis
So my blue 08 Shelby GT vert with 3K miles @ $28K was a good deal I guess. Are they really getting $28 k with 20K miles? Are these going up in price? Wonder what they will pay in SoCal come spring?
nojoke4true
Yes dennis you got a great deal. I wouldn't even let you sit in mine for less than 35 grand I could never sell mine because I'd want too much (because I paid too much )
07SGT
I would think this is the best time to buy a convertible if the vehicle is for sale in a cold climate. When spring hits the dealers will raise the price 2-3 K.
